I'm new to foldables having just bought the Fold 4. What an amazing form factor for consuming content. Total game changer and I'm all for it. It's a little weighty and thick when folded but I otherwise love it and will happily daily drive it. What I can't stand are the case options. I typically armor out my phones but you can't really do that with the Fold unless you make some annoying compromises. I hate adhesive use with most front face covers, having to carry a chunky S pen separately makes a chunky phone even chunkier, hinge covers either will not close by itself or magnets will do it but leave a dead spot when using the pen over the magnet regions, hinge covers block a portion of the front face for main camera selfies, wireless charging won't function with certain pen locations, fabric pen holders will get stretched by pen tips, etc. I ended up getting a knock off S View cover since they don't make an official one (so no S View functionality or S pen slot 😟). He mentioned it at 8:23. It's called "variable refresh rate"
@julian58572 жыл бұрын
@@AntonioNoack variable refresh rate can be 40-90hz or 10-30hz for example. So just saying "it has variable refresh rate" doesn't say what the range is which was one of the upgrades over the fold 3

Still rocking the Note9 with a headphone jack and microSD card that I use pretty often. However, the fold phone looks really awesome.

I've been using the Folds since the 2, I skipped gen 1 expecting issues, and I absolutely adore them. I have the 4 now. I use it as a second monitor for my pc to monitor background tasks and file transfers or to show my discord, I also use it as a drawing tablet both by itself and when connected to my pc via superdisplay, its cameras and screen are good enough to function as a backup in case my cameras ever go down as I need that for work, and it's powerful enough that I can shoot, edit, and upload a full youtube video for work directly from the device. It's the first time I've had a phone that I feel legitimately has the power to 100% replace every other device I own. It can be my gaming console, my tv box, my photo and video editing station (really looking forward to lumafusion on android) my pdf annotation device, and more. If my pc, my laptop, my cameras, my ipad pro, my switch, ps vita and my home internet all went down at the same time I am 100% confident that my zfold 4 can accomplish any and all tasks my work or personal life could muster and power through them in style. I didn't buy a phone, I bought a full on multimedia content consumption and creation powerhouse that can, when necessary, replace every other electronic I own including my 6000 dollar PC. It has it's shortcomings, and there is still room for improvement, but the goal of a true mobile that can do EVERYTHING has finally been achieved with the Zfold 3 and zfold4. If you are looking to buy a phone, then you might be better served elsewhere, but if you want a device that can be everything you need it to be and more then this is the best device ever made. I will NEVER go back to any other phone because as a working professional whom desires to always have the ability to meet demand no matter the situation my zfold 4 is the ultimate backup device which nothing else can match. It's well worth the price tag, and frankly I would have spent 4000 dollars instead of the 2000 I did. Every other phone on the market is dead as far as I am concerned.

You have to select 4:3 mode to access the 3x camera. It's same for S22 ultra's 3x and 10x
@sporemaster972 жыл бұрын
For the camera, you have to turn off the 50MP mode to use the other lenses. My Note 20 Ultra is the same when you have 108MP selected, it's all digital zoom because it's locked to that mode, with no pixel binning.

The screen being much more saturated on the 4 would be from the screen mode automatically being Vivid, by the looks of it Linus' Fold 3 was on natural. As well as this, the double camera buttons later on wasn't a software bug - it is the moveable shutter button that you can hold and drag back onto the original shutter button to remove. Seeing this as a consumer does kind of disappoint me when I'm trusting a big and well established channel to give me correct and up to date information :/

I get annoyed when Linus doesn't know the difference between stock Android and one UI. He's been daily driving Samsung since Note 9, probably longer. The number of things he doesn't know about Samsung is interesting. This is an impressions, unboxing channel. SC is not a review, not an expert opinion. On top of that LTT direction has been intentionally more everyman, than expert. This is in line with that.

@@bipbop3121 I don't think he often uses stock Android. And why should he?
@bipbop31212 жыл бұрын
@@tams805My main point of my comment is he doesn't use AOSP phone, so I give him more slack for when he makes criticism or otherwise displays his ignorance of android. Here he is being similarly ignorant of the OS he daily drives. It's literally his chosen profession to make content about this, so yes, I do expect the man to be better informed than I am. It's literally his career; I'm not paid to know anything. Especially, Samsung, which the Sammy trolls on the internet make iSheep look good have widely decreased. I think note 9 was the pinnacle of that generation, so it isn't like I am irrationally against Samsung, either. When you have as large a platform as Linus does, yes there is a certain responsibility not to spread misinformation about a product, because his audience is looking to him as an authority on the subject. Do I understand why Linus is ignorant, yes. This video and others have an impact where millions will take his misinformation due to ignorance, as fact. They think he's more knowledgeable than he is and that's the issue. Maybe Linus gets more informed and reduces these errors, maybe someone else takes over phones, or they edit the videos with corrections (which sadly would probably cause LTT more trouble than letting the errors stand), etc. It is annoying and not everyone has time to wait for and read comments, then again more time to verify what's the truth.

An idea about the s21 ultra sensor it's best to record the thumb print or what ever finger they use more than once. This will make the sensor more precise

S9 fingerprint sensor and layout was the best. Everything since then has been a downgrade. It was in the right position, no stretching required and you could swipe it for the notification bar!

To be fair, the under screen sensor works perfectly if you simply add your preffered finger several times so that you get different angles and coverage. :)
