Great work and a fine demonstration of skills. May I ask, would it have been possible to install a flat internal or Tee on the section of Trunking above the switchgear and install a section of vertical Trunking (chimney) of suitable length with an end cap fitted to accept the gland to give you a lot more workability to dress and work your final cores into the terminals! Just a respectful suggestion Regards Martin

That would have been great to work with but unfortunately I don't install the containment. I get what I'm given when I get there. What you have suggested is the number 1 scenario.

Got a job coming up, putting a 630A fuse disconnecter in, cables are already in place at the minute without any means of isolation. We’re working with a 4 core 300mm in parallel can’t say I’m looking forward to it. Using eaton Glasgow spreader boxes

I used to work with a jointer who used a small piece of 25mm tube to help bend the short pieces of cable into place

That looks like piss poor design. They make it look nice but give you no room to do anything. You made it look good though. Hope you’re well! Cheers and stay safe!

I like using them but always used the spreader boxes they supply on top of switch fuse, they use to do angled ones also .
@willmitchell25511 ай бұрын
Yep agreed, Eaton MEM make spreader boxes especially for 63/100A and 160/200A Glasgow switches making glanding and terminating much easier. That just looks like a piece of 6" trunking on top 🤷♂

@@willmitchell255 I’ve found Glasgow switch gear to be better than most,,,they make the normal bodies that bolt on top and the proper straight or angled threaded entry ones also. This blokes pretty good but does seem to like to struggle at times..👍
@willmitchell25511 ай бұрын
@@sparkiegaz3613 Agree mate re Glasgow switches and MEM stuff but generally he struggles because of the piss poor equipment i.e. too small or containment i.e. totally unsuitable.

"BZBMGMO Upgrade Wire&Cable Bender" Would one of these off amazon, with like an extension bar on it work with those type of cores?
@posei396011 ай бұрын
I made two of those benders but with nylon rollers. Metal bar, two bolts, nylocs and washers. Two nylon rollers . For the drive I mullered an old 1/2” socket and welded it onto the bar. Worked perfectly

Hello big man you could have installed a 12inch spreader box above would have given you more room to work in and less of a struggle.
