A good tradesman never makes mistakes like this. I'm glad you rectified it without hesitation-that shows a good spirit. I am also a tradesman and have never made such a mistake, following the skills I learned from my super seniors. They were all good-hearted people, and I am very thankful to God for learning the basics from them. I work in the oil field and couldn’t start a channel like yours, so I created one focused on relaxation and entertainment. I’d appreciate your support. There is a hollow tubular screen around the glow plug that you can get out with a lag bolt. Make sure that that screen is clean which can be burnt off with a torch. Also make sure the little hole that goes to the side of the screen is clear.

The plug thing is a glow plug that initially heats to start the ignition of the diesel and then turns off when the temperature is high enough. There's a mesh around it that can also clog up. Spares are ten a penny on eBay due to the ultra mass produced nature of these heaters. The smoke does indicate that the fuel flow might be a bit high, and the solenoid pump was going like the clappers, so it may need some experimentation to find the sweet spot for efficient burning.
@jointechcabling9103Ай бұрын
Cheers Clive. I knew i needed to mess around with it to make it burn better. I turned the flow rate down later but didn't record that, it seemed to do the trick, the smoke disappeared.
@chasingcapsaicinАй бұрын

@alouisschafer7212Ай бұрын
The secret to these heaters is that they need to be ran hot. I have one myself. Thats how you keep them burning clean run them for long periods of time so it can get glowing hot and cook off everything nasty inside.

An afterburner from Ray may be a good choice so you can tune the unit for max performance and fuel use or use kerosene instead of diesel as its cheaper unless you can pilfer cherry from the work sites you visit 🙂. I have used Kero for years on my cheap chinese diesel heaters and once tuned they burn clean with very little carbon "coke" build up inside. The Afterburner then turns the heater into a good thermostat controlled heater so you do not have to power up and down during the night as once set to the desired temp it will try and keep that temp until you need to get up for work. you can even set it to warm the van up with custom timers so the van is nice and warm for you getting back after a days graft. If wifi or bluetooth connected you can control the Afterburner from your mobile phone. They cost a few quid and Ray builds and sells direct from Australia. His knowledge of the cheapo chinese diesel heaters is vast and his Afterburner is virtualy plug and play. He will send it from Australia to the uk in about 7 days depending upon his work load or planned holidays.. I have 2 Afterburners, 1 genuine unit from Ray and One self build unit that he helped me to build D.I.Y style. www.mrjones.id.au/afterburner/index.html links to his site and you can contact him via email with enquiries and purchases etc. Questions are normally answerd within 24 hours or you can get invited to his F.B page where help is always on hand from all the users..

@@jointechcabling9103 technically these are ready to run out of the box not a lot you can adjust on these. Controllers have a secret menu I believe. Its a dead simple system too: The "fuel nozzle" isnt really a nozzle its just a drip pipe and the fuel pump isnt really a pump its a metering device. Every time the controller sends a pulse to it and clicks it delivers a set amount of fuel to the burn chamber where it basically just dripfeeds into.

id upgrade the exhaust pipe too if you're using the one that came with it, going to be thin and poorly made, probably leak over time and the last thing you want is carbon monoxide poisoning.. id have no one to watch hanging off the end of 4 core 240 and making it look easy 🤣

Brake cleaner spray for the last of the soot residue !!👍🏻
@alouisschafer7212Ай бұрын
Ive cleaned a severely coked up diesel standby heater/coolant preheater from a Volvo before and I found Oven Cleaner works wonders on dissolving the solid burned in residue. It was so bad that black crumbs came out of the exhaust upon disassembly and they had pulled the fuse to disable the heater because of the stink and smoke. That heater coked up so severely because it was never cleaned in 18 years of service and the fuel nozzle was defective. When I fired it up after reassembly there wasnt even any smoke from the exhaust just a faint diesel heater smell 😊
@jointechcabling9103Ай бұрын
Excellent. Im sure itll get clogged again so ill be able to use the brake cleaner then👍🏻👍🏻

People changing the numbers on cables and connecting them wrong is beyond poor workmanship; it's dangerous - both to anyone in the building generally and electricians working on it. Personally, I would tell the client I can't safely do the work until the problems are fixed, and that any fault-fixing is on a per-hour basis. Then do the agreed work for a fixed fee.
@jointechcabling9103Ай бұрын
The client knew about it and sent 2 lads on to the task of belling out the cables. It took them a while but they got it done.
@rozzer8290Ай бұрын

Been thinking about hiding GPS Trackers in my tool bags in case some godless ba***ard decides he can just walk walk away with it. Theft on sites has gone mental here anything even resembling the valuable copper these bandits are after cant be left outside for long. We had idiots literally drive up on our yard and trying to load cable drums into their car. We have CCTV and signs on the entrances 😂 So they fled empty handed and were even prosecuted afterwards. Then there was a time on a large hospital new build where at any given time lenghts of cable would just vanish. They took hundreds of kilos of cable in total.
