Fascinating process to watch Tom! Id love to know more about the cones you used to encase the steel bolts. I presume the idea is that the square steel washer is there for the concrete to form around and prevent the bolts from being pulled up, but not sure what role the cones carry out. Is that to prevent the alkali in the concrete from corroding the steel of the bolt? If so, isnt the washer at risk of that fate? Is the plan to go back later and fill the cones in with concrete or some other material? Just strikes me as a bit odd to leave all that bolt length waving around in the breeze, but perhaps thats to make it easier to fit the steel plate onto the bolts? Anyway, thanks for another fascinating vid which i didnt know i wanted to watch. 😂
@dfross87

The cones allow the bolts to be wiggled slightly so the steel plate goes on easily, even if something's a mm or two out. Later they will fill the cones in with a sand/cement mix.

I'd really like to see you build a kit shed from a company like "Omega steel buildings" or even better "Murray steel buildings" seme to be a common cold rolled system and I'd love to see the whole process from start to finish. Maybe the next shed could be a cold rolled kit. 🤔

@stuartcraigon2003
@stuartcraigon2003 9 ай бұрын
@Tomlamb980 that's a fair point but maybe if it was just a machine store or a GP shed, veg boxes if you grow veg even. Just if the opportunity was there to see how a lighter weight kit shed works over a hot rolled one. I know these kits can be upto 6 meters to the top of the walls and 20 meters wide. There's no restriction on length though so maybe it would never be high or wide enough for anything you'd need anyway. Just a thought.
