Great words, Sean. I'm a Superhost 2 years running because of this exact concept. I care about my guests more than the business itself and I have so many happy guests as a result.

I'm an author who has completely reinvented myself three times. I get what you're talking about. The hospitality is my favorite part of this. So far Airbnb people are soooo much more responsible and easier to deal with than regular renters.

Thank you Sean for sharing the importance of focusing on the humanity part of our business. The soft guy era, has unveiled this absolute truth-our guest’s experience matters and we as hosts play an important role in ensuring that our they are treated with respect & given the benefit of doubt that they’ll be great guests. Thank you for providing incredible content these past 8 years & for sharing your soft guy era truths with us. Drizzle Drizzle.

Love your content, much appreciated! I approach Airbnb and guests with gratitude - for allowing me the opportunity to provide the experiences i do and make great money doing it. 99.9% of my guests are awesome and Airbnb has been good to me. I own my properties, so I have a lot of skin the game. I realize this opportunity can be yanked from us at any moment.

Great video Sean! I get accused in your group of "always being on the guest's side" and I'm like hell yeah I am! Airbnb is a CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BASED COMPANY. They keep the guests happy. We are a conduit for their goals. If we aren't customer focused, Airbnb would be better off dropping us and making room for hosts who are. So many hosts lose sight of this simple concept.

I've got a booking with a note, that this guy is having birthday and wants to spend it at my property with few friends. OMG. My first instinct was to cancel the reservation. Than I reviewed my fines for party, extra guests, noise policy, smoking policy. It calmed me down, If he does throws a party I'll earn decent compensation on it. If he doesn't, I still earn my daily rate. I'm prepared for both. Thank you Sean for reaching me this.

Its been over 2 months and have not got my claim from air cover resolved. All they say is were looking into it when its a black and white case. They dont allow me to talk to a supervisor. You cant continue to conduct business this way and there’s nothing we can do. I can deal with guest but not with Airbnb neglecting hosts. For this reason me and other hosts are out.

Guests pissed and bled their period blood all over my mattresses and I got 50% via AirCover at best... and that process took 2 weeks of back and forth messaging with airbnb support. So i dont think - just letting people "party" and charge it to aircover is a simple answer.
