I failed the teas test had to retake. I failed the research course while in nursing school and had to retake. I failed quizzes/tests in nursing school and made a C in my last adult health class. I am now a family nurse practitioner (Urgent Care/Infusion) living my best life because I did not give up. I just give it to GOD because he got me through it. In nursing school you will fail here and there BUT you will get through it. TRUST ME!

Delayed but not denied!! Thank you for the transparency! I am also a nursing student that failed out of nursing school. I did not get the score I needed for my final. I have been depressed and have felt lost because i am 23 and everyone is graduating while I am here without a career . Your video has made me feel seen. Thank you

It is so refreshing seeing people talk about their setbacks and journeys of nursing school. I was accepted into my my dream nursing school but struggled with balancing working, full time classes and life. In the end I failed pharmacology and I was devastated. But after a much needed break I came back next semester took pharm again and passed it. It is very difficult to come back after having tried so hard and failing, but the key is consistency and perseverance. I am now proud to announce that I graduated this year and recently passed the NCLEX making me a RN! To anyone reading this and feeling discouraged ... keep going the road is hard but nothing good ever comes easy. Believe that you got this and no matter what keep pushing forward!

I failed nursing school with straight A's and sometimes God's will for your life could be a different route or timing, I definitely knew that he told me to go to nursing school but I was very confused, but realized later that everything is for God's Glory, and not always about me. Long story short that time around didn't bring full Glory to God. But adding to my testimony brings God his Glory. I started school with many illnesses, but maintained in my eyes, I felt my heart problem was under control, my diabetes was greatly managed, my Lupus wasn't going to be a factor, my asthma hasn't flared up in years, cancer is in remission, and I take my thyroid meds every morning. Nursing school is so stressful and time consuming, I was ignoring my health. My school policies were strict and my abidance was great. Nursing was all that really mattered to me and studying, and the completion of nursing school that first go round. I am the healthiest ill person I know, always trying to push through something, very determined, never trying to appear sick, but sometimes when I'm alone barely have energy to do anything. I believe God's Glory will come full circle. It was hard to let go, and feel wronged, and cheated out of something I earned and can not get my time back for, but my hope is that God gets the Glory. I look forward to God's plan for me. I thank him for the Comforter, and the peace he provides beyond anyone understanding. I thank Jesus everyday for his grace and mercy.

Hi Diamond, I just watched your video. This video was awesome. I identify with your struggle because it is VERY similar to my experience. It took me 6 years to become a Registered Nurse. I failed one of my classes and was held back a semester, but I came back and passed the class. Before nursing school, life definitely was making it hard for me to get into Nursing School, but…. I did And I just recently passed the NCLEX-RN exam this past Tuesday. You got this! Don’t ever give up on your dream to become a Nurse.

Definitely don’t give up. You remind me of myself when I was your age when I gave up my dream of becoming a dentist. My gpa and DAT was subpar and was rejected by every school but 1. Later down the line, I didn’t pursue dentistry because of the high cost of the program and move across the country during the pandemic was impossible… I worked and found my way into nursing. I truly believe you’ll become a great nurse. Sometimes it can be due to a learning barrier (like ADHD or testing anxiety) that could explain the situation or maybe the school. I went to a private nursing school 70 miles away and just graduated. You have more resilience than me, so I know you’ll get there ❤

UCF was my dream school as well. I was a late bloomer to nursing school so I planned initially to go to Valencia and then connect over to UCF but that never happened. Now I’m completing my RN education at a different school after 8 years as an LPN, either way I’m happy with my path❤

I really enjoyed your video. Keep trying and don’t give up love. I literally started the LPN program back in February 12th of this year. I withdrew from school last Thursday because I simply could understand dosage calculations. My brain just couldn’t process it. I tried watching simple nursing and other videos, I even went to tutoring sessions and it still didn’t help. Maybe it’s not for me to be a nurse I’m not sure. But like you I’m waiting on my Heavenly Father to show me what’s next. Don’t give up on your dream to be a nurse. It could be just the school you attended who knows one thing I can tell you is that God will definitely see you through. Be blessed love. 😊

Diamond I’m in nursing. It’s not easy… I failed my first exam. I learned to understand the Pathophysiology, watch nursing videos (ninja nerd for nursing…) I also use Mnemonics. •Beta Blocker =Cardi B Heart (Cardi) & Blood Pressure (B) always assess the heart and the BP before and after giving meds Cardi had Asthma as a child; so, the non selective is contraindicated. I also use a chalk board to write down everything and then I do active-recall… I go over my notes with other nursing students who understand the concept. But all of this is not enough… I pray all the time ❤ I use pictures:

Hey Diamond. I am so glad you made this video and I felt like you personally made it for me. A little bit of my situation is that I failed twice as well and I had to retake the very last class before graduation. Up until my last class, I always had steady grades 80s and 90s in all specialties. Long story short, the way my school works is that there’s a medication calculation exam that is take the first day of each class. You have 3 attempts. 20 questions and you have to make 100% because this is my last course and we are senior level. I made a 95% on all attempts. I appealed and the dean denied me. I got dropped from that class with a 85% as my overall grade. the way this works is even if you had a 90 in the class, if you don’t pass the medication calc exam, you get dropped automatically. I appealed twice and just received noticed yesterday that I was denied again. At this point, I lost my residency job, I got kicked out and I don’t know what to either which is why I’m here listening to your video and crying at the same time. I have a deep passion for nursing, however, doors have been shut in my face every time. But I’ve never given up. I always fall and get back up but this time, I don’t have anymore fight in me so I’m glad that I found your video, it gives me hope. I pray that God opens doors for you

That’s insane. You’re clearly a very smart girl. But nursing schools can be very unforgiving. People say you can always try again, but in many schools I seen you get kicked out after 2 failures. It’s not practical to always change schools. Perhaps it’s a sign you should go into something alternative. Your smarts can’t just go to waste like that.

I can also feel your frustration.. I had to withdrawal first semester due to my grandfather getting diagnosed with terminal cancers and passing in 30 days exactly. Went back the following fall aced the 1st semester. Second semester came got all passing grades! Then I could not get a skill down and boom they dropped me! Grades didn’t matter to them. That was their policy. One semester away from graduation! I feel heartbroken like you. Nevertheless god still gets my glory delayed not denied. Find your way back 🙏🏽

I just stumbled on this. I'm currently in nursing school, I will be graduating next Fall. If you ever decide to go back, please make sure to do a lot of practice quiz or past questions on each class. It's not that the questions will be the same on the exam day, but they will give you an idea of what the questions would look like. I used to study PowerPoint and text books, yet I was barely passing with C's , until I met a classmate that never read a textbook but is always on the 90's. I got curious and asked her secret. She told me to start practicing past questions. Seeing those past questions gives a student nurse an idea of the kind of critical thinking that's required. Please don't give up. Nursing school is HELL but we got this

Unfortunately my school (in California) ONLY takes your first TEAS score. If you did not pass with a 62 on your first try, you can not apply to the school until a newer version of the TEAS comes out. So look into the school requirement before you take your TEAS. It is not okay to failed on your first try.
