My first time doing the ASVAB I failed and I was soo embarrassed, but I did it again and actually pass. It may not be big but I made an accomplishment because I stopped doubting my self saying I won't make it. Day and nights studying truly paid off. This video is actually motivating. Thank you. Man I failed the asvab many times and I just recently passed the asvab cause with all the studying and dedication!! Even though I wanted to quit I still kept pushing knowing joining the army is my dream and Now I passed the asvab 2 weeks ago with 55 probably not a high score to y’all but i mean at least it’s passing! Man that was a strong speech about the asvab, I took the test back in 1993 it was hard, I do not know ho it is now,when I failed the test back in 1993 I took the test for the army , I failed I had to wait 6 months o take again for the navy ,I pass but I waited 5months instead of 6months the test came back invailed , at that time I just finish high school , I did not want to work in fast food for the rest of my life, back to the test I got job in fast food until I got my head together, I took it for the the USMC did not pass again, so I took up pond my self to hit the part of the test that I was the weakest, back then you has to pass 4main parts to get in the USMC, reading vocabulary math, word meaning, , so I went to the library and checked out all the reading books, and math books and I studied, and I pass the test for the USMC with a 31%precentile that is a 85% went on delayed entry in Aug 1993 I went to parris island in Nov 29 1993 I got out in Nov 28 1997" I thought I go in 1997, p got of active duty I went on irr until Nov 2001. I scored a 35 first try. ITS NOT DIFFICULT. Some guys I took it with scored a 0 and another a 29. These are the people who will end up passing and picking infantry and the most dangerous job, 88m . I took the ASVAB for the first time recently and it actually went well (or at least until I passed out when I got home after the test because I’d been awake for over 24 hours by that point). Unfortunately, I later had to withdraw from applying for the military because I found out that my high-functioning autism was an automatic disqualification (which my recruiter decided not to tell me about for some reason even though I mentioned it during the first meeting...).

I failed the ASVAB twice. I originally tried to join the Air Force, but I scored a 21. The recruiter told me to come back in 3 months, but that was too long. I went to an Army National Guard recruiter and he took me to take the ASVAB, but I made a 28. He said I could still get in with a 28, but I wanted to go active. So I went to an Active Army recruiter, and he said I could get in as a category 4 waiver (HS diploma with a score above 21). However, I was overweight and needed to lose 98 lbs. I ate 2 packs of ramen noodles a day and worked out hard to get the weight down in barely over a month. The recruiter told me I was too late, and the category 4 slots closed. Therefore, I had to take the ASVAB, but if I failed it, I would have to wait 6 months to take it again. I went to a Yahoo military chat room and vented my frustrations, but a girl who lived in my state had HER recruiter to call me. He called me at 2am.... 2AM! We talked for about 30 minutes and told me he could get a category 4 slot open. He drove THREE HOURS to see me and we did the background check, and he gave me the paperwork to fill out for MEPS. That's how I got in. The girl who helped me was prior service, and she advised me to chose a supply job, so I chose 89B Ammunition Specialist since category 4 was limited in which MOS to choose. But, yeah, I NEVER passed the ASVAB. I could pass it now with no problem. If you ever want to reclass, those scores will matter. Therefore, if you don't like your score after enlisting, you can take the ASVAB again when you get to your unit.

My situation is a little different. I’ve took the PiCat (last August) and ASVAB (2 weeks ago) and scored a 35 on both which is technically a passing score in the Navy. However, it didn’t qualify me for the jobs I wanted. I went 2 weeks ago for my first retake at MEPS and was using the Asvab for Dummies 2018/2019 book and 1 app as my study guide. A couple of days before going to take the real rest, my recruiter sent me a practice PiCat to take at home and I ended up scoring a 62 so I was feeling pretty good going into the real one. I’m only focusing on GS, AR, WK, PC, and MK. I now have to wait after July 27 to take my second retake and would need to wait 6 months for a third retake. I really need to score high enough to qualify for what I want because I can’t wait 6 months. It’s now or never this next time.

I just wanted to say that what you put in, you will get out. I'm 25 years old, graduated in 2011, I've wanted to go to the Air Force for years but finally pursued it. At first, I was willing to settle for the army because I wasn't confident that i could score high enough on the asvab for the air force being that it had been so long since I'd been in school. I went and got the Kaplan Asvab Prep Plus 2018-2019, which is a great book btw, and I studied my behind off. Then i realized if I'm going to study this hard to make a good score then i might as well go for air force. Long story short, i ended up with a 53 and i scored higher in the subtests that i needed for the jobs i was interested in. It may not be high to some, but I qualified! And I'm damn proud of myself. I made it up in my mind that i was not going to fail that asvab just to have to take it again. You can do anything that you put your mind to!

I took the asvab 4 times. Well not really. The first time I took the picat and scored a 63. Went up to meps wirh this girl that has the same recruiter. The lady at meps messed up and switched our test so the girl I was with took my picat confirmation test and I took her asvab. Which I completely failed. The 2nd time I took the actual asvab and scored a 28 I believe so I just stayed and got checked out for medical. The third time I took the paper asvab at school and got a 27. Since I took it at school and failed it, I didn’t have to wait 6 months to retake it and same for the picat, if you fail it doesn’t count against you. 3rd time I was like if you don’t pass this test then this is it. But I was also motivating myself like “you got this” and I passed with a 35. I wish my score was higher because I felt like I knew all the answers but oh well

Honestly I wish I would’ve pay attention in high school cause I wanted to join united state army and my job I wanted to get in was infantry. I remember back in 2017 I was junior years I didn’t pass my asvab and failed. And I actually give up until 2019 I went back to my recruiting station and told that I wanted to join and being serious. I wanted to commit myself to push myself further. Likely my recruiter believes that I can do it and I can pass unless I need to study 📖 extra hard. I was studying for months, from the asvab books to apps on my phone to youtube looking at every video of other people taking the test. Every video of someone explaining what they had on their test ( airforce) was the same, so I'm thinking imma ace this test. Chileeeee when I tell you nothing I studied was on the test no algebra equations, no graphs, no pi, nothing with radicals or a square roots, no fractions, nun of that was on the test just long math paragraphs dealing with yards and foots stuff that people never really mentioned. I was soooooo upset with the fact that everything I studied wasnt even on the test, nothing made sense, and after while everything started to look the same

I literally waited a whole year of 2018.... Like I gave up on the military cause my recruiter NVR got back with me...I was losing ppl...and I started smoking weed....but at the beginning of the year i talked to a recruiter...I'm recording music next week...I'm fit...I been talking to this energy drink sponsors... 2018 was my worst year but 2019 has been going great so far

I know this video is a year old but i was looking for some motivation and KZbin leads me here...i took the asvab last month and got 26😔. I'm ready to retest but i took my airforce recruiter's practice test today and got 23 so i was told to wait a month 😔😔. I'm giving up at this point

Hi Megan, please do not give up. I was once in your position. I took the asvab 3 times and finally passed on my 3rd attempt with a 57. It took me about 1 full year to absorb all the information i could and study as best as i could for the test and finally i passed and my shipping date is october 27th, I'm very thankful for the support of my recruiter, he never gave up on me like most recruiters would. He stuck by my side for one year helping me find the best resources i could possibly find to help me pass the test and i hope your recruiter is the same, if not then it does not matter! What matters is you do not give up on yourself! I have some resources i believe could help you pass the test. i also recommend an online tutor that will help you achieve that goal, he's very good trust me none of his students has ever failed the test the investment is worth it.

I've taken it twice, and have failed it, I took it in September and wanted to give up and not continue this dream in October I began to study again got a tutor, and began to dedicate an hour a day to each section I test in April again and I'll be 110% sure that I'll pass, I've never been the type to give up but failure is devastating but as you said "Remember the reason you started, why you started". Andys asvab.com. Look it up and order it and i promise u will pass no doubt. People were scoring ridiculous scores like 20s and they went to like 70s. Look it up

Should I retake the asvab? I made a 49... I told my recruiter I would retake it but ugh I’m so bad at test taking! What do you suggest? Should I stick with this score and get a waiver? I just wish I made 10 points higher

Sunflower Child always aim higher. But if you’re satisfied then hey. Personally I’d never tell you not to try to aim higher. It seems like you know you could do better.
