Jack Draper… this guy is a special talent, and so well spoken. GB is so lucky to have him

Good luck. The guy's a cheater and he vomits on court. Not my next candidate for US Open Champion.

So he should . Doesn’t matter what happens now . He has reached a grand slam quarter final . A big career milestone and still only 22 .
@lingolarker93182 ай бұрын
Good to read that comment. It really was about getting to the latter stages. I felt he absolutely HAD to reach QF at least at this tourno for there to be any realistic chance of landing one of the big ones eventually. Nearly all mid to late 20s first time Slam winners in the Open era have ‘served notice’ by their very early 20s with at least one deep run.

Been watching the progress of this young man since he was runner up in Junior Wimbledon in 2018. He is now coming into his own and has a great career ahead of him.

Watching him play live in New York in 1st round and getting to semis is incredible - LFG Jack! Keep going

@@lukepatterson5367 That was on the Umpire more than Draper tbh. He didn't see what happened when he volleyed even if it was a shank. He was also willing to replay the point if the Umpire said so.

I'm expecting "bat-tl" with his RP accent, but he says "bat'l." This has definitely changed in South Britain in recent decades. (As an American, I have always loved the very propah RP accent.)

Is this RP?

@@byzantinegold No it's not Received pronunciation. It's Estuary English.

He's from a privileged background having been sent to a private posh Prep school until 11, then to a Private boarding school from 11 until 18 though I don't think he boarded. He tries not to have a posh accent....😂
@DavidinMiami2 ай бұрын
@@lizrivers4422 Yeah, I detect moments when it sounds very posh, and other moments when it's more relaxed and everyday/common.

@@yedis1750 I had to look up examples of estuary. Wow, a blend of RP and Cockney! I had no idea. I'm from Miami, FL. I'm actually more informed about British accents than most Americans, believe it or not; most Americans think all Brits have the same accent. (Pretty much.) Cheers! Cheerio!

I’m a lefty and I’m supposed to be happy for him but I’m not, because he cheated Felix at the previous tournament

Draper. You still cheated at Cincinnati. Sinner called a double bounce on himself BEFORE the umpire ruled in tonight's round of 16 vs Tommy Paul. Just wondering....would you have done that? Hmmm....
@revdwendy10192 ай бұрын
He did not cheat - he offered to replay the point.
@tonytse49052 ай бұрын
@@revdwendy1019 He should have conceded the point. Not replay because he LOST the point. Any honourable and honest player would have conceded the point. No replay needed.
