Yeah, he's right. It's specialness. I have overcame guilt just recently with this sentence: "If I was there, that wouldn't have happened". The "I" in this sentence refers to Awareness, or in terms of the Course the Son of God. It's the acknowledgment that the true me is incapable of doing many things that the ego would guilt-trip me for. It's the acknowledgement that the problem was never in the "doing", but that it was a problem of mind. It's the acknowledgement that I was asleep inside of this meat suit called a body, but now that I'm awake things will be different. So now each time the ego tries to guilt-trip me over some past event or doing, I just say "If I was there, that wouldn't have happened". It has worked perfectly for me, so far. This realization has also enabled me to forgive others, "If they were there, that wouldn't have played out like that".

@@AS-qk5ii How's it going for you? I hope it worked out well :) It has been at least two weeks since I had that realization, and it has yet to fail me. It seems ironclad, but I don't want to jinx it, haha. There have been quite a few times where I have thought I'd had a discovery that would last forever, such as the time that I realized meditation isn't something that you "do" and walked around in open-eye meditation for 3 days, talking to people and all. I thought that would last forever, but somehow it has gone away and I don't know how to get it back. Another time I found out directly that I am not a body, and I seen the body and the brain for the illusions that they are. This one lasted for 8 days. I've been through 3 or 4 experiences just like this, and so now I've learned not to assume that "this is it now" every time I make a discovery. Sometimes you're just given previews of what higher consciousness is like, right? But, with this particular realization, "If I was there that wouldn't have happened", it's been going for at least two weeks now and is only getting more powerful by the day, so I'm feeling very confident in it. Best wishes!

yes nice, the meat body that's all it is but who we are is true self nothing to do with the body! That is so relevant. I am drowning the body in this awareness and leaving the guilt body to do its own thing as its nothing to do with the truth of who I am.

@@jayantithomson913 Yeah, another name for it that I like, which will be helpful if you've ever wore a VR headset, is a "Virtual Reality body suit", haha!

I really love that and I'm gonna try it. Guilt is because we did something we shouldn't. But the son of God fully awake would never have done it. It's the ego and the sense of separation that did it, and all that is illusion

The guilt. It infiltrates everything if unseen. I’ve been so guilty because I “failed” to be do ACIM well enough. It’s all the same original guilt. “God gave me everything and look what I did with it”. Remembering to put God first is the most powerful tool and instant restoration to strength and innocence is assured.

"responsibilities to dream figures" Reminded me of when Jesus asked a man to follow him and he asked to go and say goodbye to his friends and family first and Jesus said "whoever puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not worthy of the kingdom." Or the one he told "follow me and let the dead bury their dead" I've struggled with guilt alot and now it's more clear to me each day that guilt is the result of having idols.

The special relationship has been a tough one for me. I am that person with a foot in each world when it comes to family. It’s not that I feel guilt all the time, but there can seem to be ‘guilting’ in certain situations. Elderly parents. Dad recently put in assisted living with dementia and a a bad heart. Mom has guilt over no longer being able to care for him. I feel general guilt that he’s in there. Family dynamics are tough. How best to work on this. How do you not feel obligated to be a participating member of your family?

@@DavidHoffmeister Thank you so much David. I resonate so deeply with all of the Course teachings but have always known that walking the walk with regard to family was where my fears seemed to live. I remember as a teen at home and reading Crack in the Cosmic Egg by Joseph Chilton Pearce and my father seeing it and commenting on the title, “You’re on a trip!” And me thinking “Actually Dad, all the things you do that you think are so necessary are just things to distract you from the truth that none of this matters.” But I’ve always felt like those early day NDE’ers that knew if they spoke their truth they would be institutionalized. Boy, that was a long ‘Thank you’. ❤️
