Sometimes in order to get a new perspective in life, we must go travel. Meeting new people, culture and geography will open the mind. I'm saving money to long term travel in near future. It's best to do so, while the fire is burning within you.

Love it. Do it and don’t let anyone stop you. We all have that calling, we just have to be honest with ourselves and have the courage to heed the call. Best of luck on your journey of life my friend

First Gen Honduran here with a higher than average for a Honduran intelligence. And MAN. I feel felt every second of this man. I too was well rounded in highschool and was successful in critical and creative thinking. Until adulthood hit and my genius HAD to generate profit. That’s when the bullys and mean people from highschool that always felt they had a better sense of “reality” than me because they were aspiring to pursue careers deemed “reasonable” and actually useful to create power and money. See that’s the issue brother. Everybody in America is looking at ways to cheat the system to get rich THEN enjoy life generating wealth on the destruction of our planet and fellow humans. People like me, you and outsiders of America can see it.

So awesome to hear that you resonated man, thank you. And so it is man - the incentives are all fucked up. Money, cars, houses, sex, drugs - none of that shit will bring fulfillment or happiness. Of course, some amount of financial security is helpful and healthy, but there’s a limit. As first generation Americans, I think we often look to our parents and their circumstances. Many of them succeeded in bringing the stability and comfort that they desired for them and for us, their children. But once we’re here, being born in the US, I feel we’re basically spawning into the world at most of humanity’s desired end point. Most of the world is living in far worse standards of living then in the US. Many people look to escape poverty when they come here. But once you’d made it, once you’re stable and comfortable, what’s next? What do we do with our lives? When do we stop seeking more and more material gain? In my opinion, we need a limit. And we need to set one ourselves. The amount of wealth some have is absolutely absurd, and completely unnecessary. Money is often no longer freedom, but bondage. Curious what career path you went into my friend. Wishing you the best in finding your own way. At the end of the day, that’s what matters. We can’t lead others if we can’t lead ourselves. Cheers

@@ASteppingStonehey man so. I’m actually getting into social work man. I ended up going to prison while I was attending college and when I got out went through a reformation program for youths called “ Los Angeles conservation core” and they linked me with this non profit that deals with fuck ups with potential like me. So I’m currently getting more and more licensing to add to my social work licenses I already have to be a “peer support specialist” which basically helps minority groups who are underdeveloped socially and skill wise. Before I went to prison I was very involved in academics and acquired a good amount of skills so when I got out it was easier for me to get it together even though I was homeless. Now I want to be able to teach all the broken POC how to hunt bare minimum to be able to be self reliant.

you know how in the Shawshank Redemption they finally escape and meet on the beach later? America has become like a giant prison we hardworking but fked over men need to escape and meet on a beach somewhere in a bettet country.

Haha I like the analogy man, thanks for commenting. The sad part is it seems the phenomenon of working ourselves to death goes beyond just the US. Many people in China, Korea, Japan etc seem to have similar issues. Idk how global of a problem it is, but I do feel people all over the world need to refocus themselves on what truly matters. My 2 cents. There’s of course so much more than just toxic work culture that’s wreaking havoc on men. HealthyGamer.gg/Dr. K talks a lot about those issues if that’s of interest to anyone. He’s a stellar mental health resource Best of luck out there
