Linda was Knots Landing's Sammy Jo Carrington. The producers were insane to write her out of the show. She should have married Michael and made Karen's life hell.

Everything you said is one hundred percent accurate. I can imagine how much fun it would be if Michael and Linda gotten married, with Linda turning Karen's life upside down.I wish Linda had stayed on the show.

Why the hell did they kill of Linda Fairgate? She was one of the most interesting characters they brought on in years. Especially as they developed her more and revealed why she was so materialistic. She had the potential to be the "new Abby".

I kinda lost track of Knots by this time (eventually got way more into Twin Peaks which was sort of a bizarre/twisted/creepy satire of nighttime soaps such as Knots, this Knots episode seems to have aired sometime close to when TP was on the air though maybe off by a couple seasons)... But is this the same actress who played the telekinetic “Carrie”-like character who battles Jason in one of the later Friday The 13th movies?

The earlier seasons to me were more sentimental to me. I could not stand the later seasons. Sometimes the later seasons were more of a sitcom theme than a drama theme.

nobody could replace Donna Mills. Linda was too annoying to replace Abby. Thats where Anne and Claudia came in. They weren't great at Abby neither but they weren't as annoying as Linda.
