the ocg issue is that other broken cards are legal not that tearlaments is busted. Tcg has less hits and tear is a tier 3 deck at best. Honestly as a OCG player Tear doesn't need chaos ruler much to create a massive board. I've seen it with my self. Tearlaments Kashtira, Tearlaments Scream, Tearlaments traps, and Ishizu millers are the main reasons why the deck is still alive.

Yeah , I’ve picked up Tear in the TCG again and it’s really still strong. It’s really explosive in the beginning and can be resilient in a grind game since when you get to last 15 cards of deck it’s primarily tear names just to constantly reuse to bring out Rulk , Dragostaplia or Grapha. Having Revolution + Tuning helps the deck being to able to go into AFD for a extra normal summon and gray a field spell for follow up. Then turn AFD into the Visas Synchro and grab any Tear Spell or Trap or even the Mannadium Counter trap if you choose to keep a Synchro on field.

Nah. They have to combo a lot more to actually mill now. From what i can tell, tear will at least be guaranteed a win going first during game because the ocg seems to generally not include board breakers in the main deck, meaning that tear can get lucky on the mills and set up stuff. Even if they do have something like evenly or DRNM, tear can have sulliek or cryme set up, plus they have snow and a book of moon on the opponent's turn us stupid powerful.

Depends on if we rule it the same. The card ignores cost and the interaction highlights an important misconception people have. People will often call anything before the semicolon as cost, leading to things like "it targets as cost", when targeting is not cost. Things before the semicolon are what you do at activation, which can include cost and other actions, such as targeting. So in case of a card like EEV, the tribute is the cost and declaring s/t is a separate action you perform after it, meaning that the only cost you would be ignoring with transaction rollback's grave effect is the tributing, and you can then just declare s/t then resolve the effect

Costs are not paid, but other activation requirements still must be fulfilled. If the card targets, rollback will target as well. Declaring Spell or Trap at activation would still happen and it would resolve normally, you just dont tribute.

I don't understand TCG players' obsession with wanting to stop people from playing decks after a few months. In other card games, formats last for 2-3 years, and the meta decks are played for a similarly long timeframe. I understand wanting to bump Tears down from Tier 0 and overwhelming the format. But that's not the sentinment I get from this video, and other people who share the sme sentiments. The idea is more like a "WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL PLAYING THIS DECK!!!" "How is it still meta relevant, BAN EVERY CARD!!" I see similar complaints and mentality in Master Duel where people get upset that after a year, Swordsoul was till being played. And Tearlaments, despite being well balanced in that game, still get constant demands to ban Kit "so the deck can die." To me, coming from other card games like MTG and Pokemon, this is an absurd mindset. TCG players don't want a balanced game, they simply wanna see the decks they don't like become completely unplayable. Rather than wonder why people are so attached to Tearlaments, instead people demand it get killed. And as someone who likes the deck, I think this mentality is dumb. When it's clear a huge part of the reason people are still trying to make it work, is cause they like the deck. And that's cause Tearlaments are easily one of the most fun decks Yugioh has had in a very long time. I'll gladly take Tier 0 over the solitaire cancer we had with Drytron, Adamancipator, SHS, and Tenyi pile. Like in response to the video you just made... Is there REALLY a problem with Tearlaments still climbing up the meta from time to time? 1 YEAR!! yeah.... What's the problem. Sky Striker still got played as late as last year. tear isn't fun at all to play against unless you are playing tear. thats why. also having a deck that was quite literally teir 0 that took forever for it to end its turns still being playable is going to make people angry when they see it regardless of how good it is. tear is a deck that unless you actually ban kitkallos will basically be like burning abyss and live around forever because it was never designed very well. it was designed to be good not good for the game. also why is this allowed when runick is not? the only reason runick is hated in the ocg and has massive amounts of hits is because in a best of 1 format its unbeatable. in a best of 3 format its a very fun combo deck but since ocg is mostly best of 1 tournaments they simply can't allow the deck to thrive. another thing is that decks remaining playable really makes the playing experience stale especially when you are playing to win (which I might add is the only point of master duel as there is no true way to play casual formats all the time). the tcg mindset is the fighting game mindset where if you leave decks playable for too long people get bored of playing against them over and over again and having to side in specific options to beat these decks that don't really work against the best decks. banlists should shake up the meta not just curb the powerful stuff.

I think tear comes back in tcg with rev synchron and visas amrita. Tuning mills 1, rev being milled means you can bring it back and turn it plus an ishuzu into nat beast. Amrita can search you a ton of cards in your deck that you need. Looks pretty good

Why are TCG players screeching about this? The current OCG Tear list is nowhere near as strong when it was at full power, and if at any point Chaos Ruler got negated, or the mills doesn';t hit any good names, the deck ends with nothing significant on board. It's literally just a huge gacha game. Also Maxx C resolving against Tears will hinder it a lot because current OCG tears need to combo a lot to produce mills.

Your opponent will play maxx c on your first special summon and there is no playing around it with the plays you have just listed. They get about 4 cards at the minimum with a grapha chaos ruler end board (a beatrice end board is a draw 3 at the very least and that is with a custom hand already) which is not what you call playing around maxx c or am I missing something?

I used P.U.N.K Tear in the TCG before and yes Foxy Tune need something else in order to do stuff, that's why i used 2 you wanted to draw it but not have more than one i hand, Ze Amin was at 3 because drawing her is a Chaos Ruler also you used Emergency Teleport at 3 for the same reason, havIng a Ze Amin and a Tear monster in hand was an almost guarratee to end up in a Board with Pyschic End Punisher, Kaleido Heart, Chaos Ruler and Halqui, then in your opponent tour you used Halqu effect summoned Formula synchro and then use it alongside Chaose Ruler to make Baronne in your opponents turn, but the biggest Threat was Psychic End Punisher because most decks couldn't get rid of it, and also it had all of teh Tear stuff so if you didn't have any PUNK stuff you could just use it like a normal Tear deck, it was fun and actually it wasn't bricky wich surprised me, it wasn't as good as teh danger variants but it was better than the pure variants, the deck died when Chaose Ruler got Banned, it could work without Halqui decently but ir couldn't work wothout Chaos Ruler.

I think the theory behind not playing teleport but playing more punk names is because they at least do *something* when you mill them and 3 ogre dance 3 ze amin 3 foxy tune still accomplishes the same level of consistency as playing 3 teleport 3 ze amin 3 foxy tune.

I dont think this is nearly as bad as he thinks. The top 3 decks make up a third, the second third is a few random meta or rogue decks, and the last third is everything else. Tearlament is still around but its changed a ton from what it was before. Hardly playing the same deck at some point

Tearl are just feeding the other decks at this point. OCG value of Tearl just plummeted, so the high rarities are cheaper, hence the resurgence. Tearl is currently not doing well at those OCG, invite only events.

To be completely fair, Chaos Ruler is avaiable to a lot other graveyard strategies and it's 100% a busted card. Yet, the only deck that manages to return over and over again is Ishizu Tearlaments because the deck is simply more busted.

Tearalament has a huge opportunity to be one of or the best deck until the OCG ban list properly nails the coffin on it or Maxx “C”. As Tearalaments are one the strongest decks that can play ‘through’ losing the Maxx “C” mini game.

Tear are absolutely the strongest and most resilient deck EVER bar Ruler/Zoo. As long as 2 names exist they will be put in strategies that want cards in GY quick and capitalisation on cards in the GY. Every card EVER that interacts by being send to GY will be a combo piece to Tear as long as the cards exist.

@@Unknown-Duelist I don't think I made myself clear in the original post. Every deck that was meta got a bunch of small hits that added up overtime. Sure tier like that now but that after FIVE ban list and other deck had something similar happen. For spright they banned toad toad, hit the frog engine. banned elf, then blue, jet, and starter all at 1. This lead to over an overall lower power format where powercreep can't happen and you're suck player worst version of the same deck.

Judging an archetype by its limited catds is kind of a senseless prejudice, and I can see a couple of those in your reasoning, just like when you said you didn't like the 1 copy of TTT in Pak decklist, if I do remember correctly. ​@@chewdoom8415 It's just an option like Baronne. Chaos Ruler isn't always optimal nor easy to make in Tear. Things like deck space (bricks) and ED space as well as HT ratios are involved. Punk Tear is the only 1 out of 25 tops. The rest of the Tear tops are just standard Kashtira Ishizu Tear, which also don't go into CR that often because you need a Kashtira + GUB which you'll only see from a random mill and is also at 1. Also most Tear decks don't play REV synchron anymore as of late, since as I said before, things like ED space are crucial in the build. Why waste space for AFD anyway when even Winda comes out more often than CR.
