You said it’s a camping channel. I’m here to say it’s not a camping channel, it’s the Joe Robinet channel. We are here watching because we like watching you do these things. There are thousands of camping channels we can watch. We watch your channel, in part, because of your personality. So whatever your channel needs to be, it needs to be that and you’ll have a following because we enjoy you the person. Keep healing and let us see you where you’re at and where you’re going.

Try to view your content situation as an opportunity to see what else is possible, you've got a good honest screen presence and you're personable, that alone goes a long way on youtube.

The small improvement you have in this short time is actually a huge sign that things will continue to improve. Like someone else said, squeeze a tennis ball. Do physical therapy at home daily. Hang in there, Joe. I had Bells Palsey, whereby i lost the nerves in the right side of my face and couldnt move anything on it. It made me unable to eat or drink properly, speech was slurred, my eyelid wouldnt close properly, and my face looked slumped and disabled to people who didnt know me. It was a nightmarish experience and it took months of physiotherapy. After weeks of nothing happening I was frightened scared that it would never recover, but i kept at it religiously. The day i saw the slightest movement was one of the happiest days of my life. Now im fully recovered. Nerves take a long time to heal. Way longer than flesh and bone. Constant daily massaging and stimulation to make the electrical signals from the brain keep reminding it to heal and work pay off eventually. But it takes insane amounts of patience. Your bushcraft mentality can help with that. So massage massage massage and dont ever let up. You got this!

Joe, we're not going anywhere, you've done so well to get this far, keep pushing, keep experiencing through your family and your kids. As for your channel, show us your recovery (because you will recover) show us hope you're coping day to day (because you will), show us trips with your family (if they're willing). If you can't do any of the above, just look after yourself and your family as best as you can, heal and then come back, we'll wait .We can just go back and watch old videos till then...Hopefully see you soon x

Man, you have helped me in hard days so many times. Your videos are a form of therapy for me and I’m sure thousands of others. I can watch all your videos at least 3 times each. I’m so happy you’re alive! You’re going to get through this. It’s not gonna be easy, but it’s okay. Nothing is, and you don’t need me to tell you that I’m sure, but keep your mindset open. Everything happens for a reason. I believe in you and your family and your goals, and your ability to bring joy to others. Please don’t let that fire burn out. Much love brother man

I was there, too. You're getting closer. It takes time for the body to rebuild and reconnect... but know, KNOW that IT IS HEALING. Be GRATEFUL for the subtle increases in use you'll see soon. Stretching hurts but is necessary to heal properly. You will gain full function again. Trust the process 🙌✨️

Hi Joe, I have followed you for years under another KZbin account. My wife and I love your videos. I wanted to let you know that I used to always go out cycling in a baseball cap. In a previous video you talked about wearing a helmet. I listened and now wear one every ride. Whatever recovery looks like for you, I am confident that you will continue to inspire. Love and prayers to you Joe!

The top comments pretty much summed it up I think Joe. 8 Days in the wild with you and Shawn was my first watch years ago, and it really helped take me out of a bad place mentally. I still go back to it when I need to get out of my head for a bit and just enjoy being in the moment. Please do the physical therapy and exercises, it's the only thing that ever helped my parents after a similar injury. Cheers man, wish you all the best.

I have my own physical issues and empathize completely with you. One of them is severe arthritis in both hands. My fingers won't close. I know you work on bending to close your fingers. I do , too. One of the other things I do is to work on laying my fingers flat, too. You may already do this but , if you don't and your PT agrees, maybe do that, too. Prayers for you and your family. 🌻

Do not ever give up Joe, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have discovered my love for the woods. I live in Ontario too in the far north east, I looked for outdoors videos of people in my neck of the woods and found you years back, learned a lot of my beginnings camping from you and your channel. Canada healthcare has gone so downhill, my dad currently cannot raise his left arm and has been waiting on surgery for 8 months. He's still out everyday doing all he can. I'll definitely be watching some of your videos again and I know I missed a few I'll be watching when I can.

"you guys aren't gonna wait" Joe I've been watching your videos for a decade, particularly when I've felt helpless in my life and needed to watch someone else set an example of strength. You wanna spend the next decade making videos about rebuilding that strength, I'll watch like I always have. Camping, hiking, gripping a soda can - it's all the same at this point. Get the help you need, ask for the help you need, keep setting the example of what strength is. We follow your character.

Yes - we love following YOU, Joe, not your camping, although I love your wilderness canoe trips so much - I feel like I am there with you. But now I want to hear all your news - one finger at a time! Piano playing is a good idea. Start with your right hand as it is more agile at the moment. Learn the easy ones, like Christmas Carols, things everyone knows. Eventually you can play harmony with your left hand. Don't give up!

Joe please don’t feel useless. Your kids will only remember you being there not you baiting their hook or holding something. God has blessed you to be with them in your right mind. That’s the main thing. Please don’t let it get to you. Your mind is a huge part in your recovery. Use your mind to focus on getting better and you will. I would suggest you do your channel on your recovery journey. You will help inspire others who have the same issues. Try to find the good in what you are going through. Love you brother and I am praying for you and your family. There is a good in what you’re going through. ❤ Hey maybe you can show folks with disabilities how to camp????❤

Joe- I stumbled onto your videos years ago and was drawn to the fire crackling, peaceful nature sounds and being in the woods. I’m older and am not comfortable sleeping on the ground or a makeshift bed of branches. But I truly enjoy camping vicariously through your adventures. I want to encourage you to film taking walks into nature. Take the dog with you too. Strap the GoPro on your chest so you don’t have to hold it. By the way… I’m sure there are not many people who can identify all the trees you can. Teach me while you walk in the woods. Another idea would be hosting/coaching kids or inexperienced peeps who want to learn camping skills. My tween-age grandkids are totally into “challenges”. Who can make the best shelter without any tools in an hour? How fast can you clear / level an area for a tent. Check it with a level. Challenges should be fun, silly and still teaching / learning moments. Make some viral videos with the family. In time, your body will get stronger and you’ll be able to do more of the usual Joe. Till then, add some new dimensions to your channel. I’m praying the Lord will strengthen your body and mind. Depression is rough. Start doing things (whatever you can) for others. My grandmother always said if you are feeling low to help others because helping others will bless you right back.

For my part, Joe, I'm not going anywhere. Show some videos to inspire us through what you are going through. It could be very encouraging and even if it really helps one person to hang in there, you are still doing good. I was in an accident when I was a new driver and broke my face on the steering wheel. Bad stuff. Even after healing, it took about 15 years for feeling to come back to the tip of my chin. Hang in there, Joe. Keep on keeping on, brother. Hang in there. Hang tough, Joe.

Joe, when I was around 12 years old my grand mother tripped over a rope that was tied to our dog. she fell down and shattered her elbow, was in a cast for at least six months. The doctors told her she would never have full use of her arm, That's when I came up with the rusty hinge syndrome. I put a pully up in the rafters in the garbage and ran a rope through it and told her to hold on to the rope that ran through it just to make her elbow move. She never had 100 percent use of her elbow but she had more use of it than the doctors told she ever would. The piont is, don't listen to the doctors and just get better. I'm praying for you Joe. 🙏
