I think anyone would have trouble breathing when they fall down like you did Mary. As long as you're ok now. Not surprised that Mary is sore, cause she doesn't have much meat on her butt to begin with, to have cushioned the blow. On a lighter note- did anyone else notice that Ollie's hair on top of his sweet head, kind of looked just like Peter's hair on top of his head in the shot of Ollie lying in his bed, and then camera moved to Peter. Check it out Mary, and see what you think and let me know!! I really hope you feel better soon,

Yowie!!!! Tailbone pain is quite unpleasant. How's that for an understatement? LOL I peeked ahead at the titles of the upcoming vlogs, and no mention is made of Dr's, or hospital visits, so I'm hoping bedrest was all that was needed. So scary, though. :-( Ollie is so stinkin' sweet. He knew something was wrong with you, he didn't know how to make it better, so he administered the best medicine he could....doggy snuggles. I sure do love your curly boy.

I'm so glad Mary's okay! I think you bruised your tailbone, I did that once and it hurt.
@brendametube9 жыл бұрын
Ohhh Mary! I was so sad to hear this tonight. I know that pain, and it makes me sad to think that you're having to deal with that. I'm so thankful that you said it was better today. I bruised mine decades ago but the worst thing happened last year. I went outside on an old hammock swing and pushed it back as far as I could so that when I let go I could get a real good swing out of it. At my age(45) I should've known better. Well when I lifted my feet I found out how rotted the old swing was and went straight down on my boom:( this time it was not only a bruise. I felt the break and had to sit on my knees just catching my breath for quite a few minutes from the pain before I could move. Here I am one year later and still when I get up to walk many times I feel pain for the first few steps depending on what type of seat I was sitting in. Seeing you sit sideways like that provokes lots of empathy for you. I know you said you're feeling much better today, but I'm still going to pray that you fully recover ASAP because even coughing can hurt a bruised coccyx bone. I know you don't need that right now on top of CF challenges. Your positive attitude wonderfully inspiring and contagious! Ps... Sounds crazy, but after a few days you can start a little therapy for it. Believe it or not if you squeeze your buttocks together it makes certain things like getting up and down easier.… And it kind of rehabilitates it a bit. LOL LOL. Peter, please DO include us if there is any way you can when your paper is finished. The "laid-back" video version of your paper sounds awesome too! As I said before, Jesus taught in parables so He must find the method of imagination and teaching very effective or He would not have done it. Hmmm... I wonder if he ever used props? OK, you three:)))) we love you!!! #GOODJOBOLLIE!

That was scary when I read your title to today's Vlog!. I'm glad you're doing ok Mary. I hate stairs! I've tripped on them 3 times now in the past years, broke my ankle once and sprained it once. The time I sprained it was a few weeks before our sons wedding in Maui- 7 years ago- and I was hoping I wasn't in that silly boot on their wedding day since it was in the sand and I wanted to wear sandals. I hoped and prayed and guess what, I was able to wear my new sandals to their wedding. Yea! anyway, I'm sure we all have stories to tell about stupid stairs. Oh, and i don't know about you, but I always felt "stupid" after falling. don't know why. :-) Well, have a good rest of the day, I'm so proud of you Peter working so hard and so dedicated on your paper, and at the same time always watching over and lovingly caring for Mary. And I know Mary cares as much about you as you do about her. :-) See you tomorrow! Hugs to all 3 of you- Ollie is so cute being a snuggle buddy to help you feel better.

That has happened to me a couple times in the past. I sometimes feel dizzy and lightheaded if I haven't eaten much or only ate carbs and sugary things without much fat or protein for breakfast. Sitting down and eating something with carbs or sugars usually clears it up within a few minutes, so I'm guessing it has to do with blood sugar being low. The two times I passed out it just came over me quickly and I didn't think to go sit down in time. I had the same cold sweat as Mary did after. Anyways, glad you're okay Mary. Might want to buy some glucose tablets from the grocery store. You chew one if you are feeling dizzy and it raises your blood sugar quickly to keep you from passing out.

Mary, I don't know if you ever have problems with your tailbone anymore but one of my friends fell just like you and walking and sitting were terrible for her. After two months of it still hurting, her Internal Medicine Dr. referred her to a physical therapist that specializes in pelvic injuries and tailbone injuries. This PT manually brought the tailbone into the correct position! When my friend fell, she actually knocked the bone a bit and it was sort of "tucked under". Orthopaedic Dr said surgery was her only option, but this Physical Therapist said pushing it back into place was much better. And the best part is, my friend said it didn't hurt at all to have it done! She's been pain free for well over a year now. Actually, this is good information for anyone who reads this. The procedure is done manually through the....um....anus, but I've since met so many people that also had it done and they said it changed their life. I'd totally recommend it based on my friend's experience.

I don’t know why THIS came up in my recommendations, but I fell down the stairs over Christmas break & sprained my ankle. I had wet, slushy boots on and ran downstairs to grab something I had forgotten at my dad’s. About three stairs from the bottom, I biffed it really good. My entire ankle and top of my foot were swollen for almost a month and bruised for about three weeks. I have never been injured like that before but I crawled into my bedroom and just laid on the floor sobbing in pain. Eventually, I climbed up the stairs on my knees with a gigantic box overflowing with classroom supplies. I finally made it to urgent care (after driving myself with a bum driving ankle) to find out it was sprained. 😳 Still in some pain and swollen when I am on my feet a lot teaching.

Ohh ya Mary will be very very sore for at least a few months. When I was 8 weeks pregnant with my last baby I fell and landed hard on my tail bone and after we knew the baby was ok... thank goodness! It took me over 4 months to be able to sit on my butt. I had actually fractured my tail bone but didn't find out till after my baby was born cause u can't get X-ray while pregnant. I still can't stay sitting on hard surfaces for long because of my tailbone I sit on one butt cheek then the other. Lol
