Nice to know I'm an eBay seller and buyer. I would never scam someone it's just sad the people do this. i haven't got scamed yet.

Yep, I've sold plenty and bought even more. This is the first time this has ever happened to me so it's reassuring to know just how rare it is. Unlike on other platforms... *Cough* Wish.com *Cough*

5:34 And here we see a calm and passively aggressive man slowly and methodically making his way toward this scammers last know location while filming and explaining his rage in an educational way...'coughs' I mean. Make his way to the post office on a misty day. Yeah.

Funnily enough I have his return address and Facebook profile... Hmmm... Part 2 coming soon? 🤔 No. That would have me arrested, but a funny thought regardless
@amightygrizzly3 жыл бұрын
@@RMDTech Yeah. That would get you arrested. I would be against it as well. As for scams though, I thought one time I was getting a scam. It was a MSI Intel motherboard for an i5-8400. The motherboard arrived in great condition with all original packaging and everything. Except for one little but highly major issue. The CPU socket on the motherboard had every single pin completely bent. Now, it could've been a scam, yet the seller took many, many pictures before and the socket pins were all fine. When I sent him the message of what happened, he asked for it to be returned cause I've repaired bent pins before but definitely not like this. Of course, I returned it and got my money back. Not a scam. A week later. I finally found out that a new boy working at the post office was caught opening items(mainly electronics for computers) and messing with them. As far as I could tell, I was one of the victims on that list. He must've bent all the pins as to why. Only that guy knows. Either way, I did end up telling the seller who also told me he sent it back to Newegg and got a refund from them too. So it worked out in the end and was not a scam. And that guy got fired and fined by our local court system. Anywho, that's my only story really. I truly don't wish to have a "scammed" story too, but only time will tell. Hope you don't get scammed anymore in the too dude.

As a very long time ebay buyer and seller, there are some things to look out for. 1.) It's pretty unlikely this person has a mountain of feedback. Having 10 or so positive feedback means nothing. Nobody who has a a ton of feedback would scam you for $160 and inevitably get their account banned. Buy from sellers with LOTS of feedback. 2.) Check to make sure the seller wasn't padding their feedback with very cheap items, then selling very expensive items as well. It's going to be a scam. You'll see this with all sorts of electronics. Someone selling $5 items and stuff around their house, then suddenly they have 50 RTX 4080s for sale at a price that would encourage lots of purchases in a short time.

There is really scam rain on the eBay in 2024, Hundreds Crap PCs selling for 600-700 with i5,i7 4-6 gen. The scam sellers make really big money as they selling a lot of this crap. Two times faster and cheaper PCs with i3 12-14 gen stuck on eBay, it is unbelievable...

There seems a scam I notice on eBay and sometimes Amazon where sellers sell older PCs (i.e., 2nd Gen Core i5s) but include a GeForce GT 1030, A GeForce 650/750, and sometimes even selling "10-Core" PCs with Radeon R7 integrated graphics, all which are not good for modern gaming. I don't know if they're advertising it as a "gaming desktop" just because it runs Minecraft or Fortnite and the seller didn't bother to test more mainstream games like Destiny 2, Doom Eternal, or Resident Evil 2/3 which have higher requirements. I would avoid purchasing them since they will have poor gaming performance if the graphics card isn't upgraded. On top of having poor specs for gaming, they may come with poor quality USB Wi-Fi adapters (possibly a no-name 11n 150 Mbps) which is very slow compared even an AC600 adapter from a name brand and may fail which is a common issue with no-name adapters, also the included "gaming" keyboard/mouse/headset will likely be a cheapo no-name brand you often see on Amazon that may not last or perform well (also the keyboard may have the vertical Enter key which is incorrect for the U.S.).

I would imagine, that eBay don't ban a scammer right away, but the let him attempt to sell again. Any transaction will then be withheld until eBay gets their money back and they'll keep doing that until the scammer either quits eBay or stop scamming. Not perfect, but that's what I am speculating.

I normally just email them about the item multiple times so that I can tell if they are actually going to sent it, this dose not work all the time but I recommend this

Funnily enough I messaged the seller about this PC after I bought it. The listing had pictures of and mentioned custom DIY power supply cables. (It looked pretty rough and that's partly why I wanted it!), they seemed so genuine and honest. Just goes to show that you really never know who to trust.

i know the opposite scam as a seller : the seller sends the good item to the buyer but the buyer says it is not as advertised and send back crap instead. well in any case how did he have good feedback?
@mattishida30672 жыл бұрын
This isn't a scam if the item doesn't matches the exact description the seller is lying to the buyer about the description of the item.
@yussef9612 жыл бұрын
@@mattishida3067 I am not talking about that... let's say a seller sells a 1000 $ iphone to a buyer, the buyer receives the iphone but says not as advertised and return sand in a packet (with the same weight of the iphone)... the buyer can "prove" he has returned the phone with the post ticket...and same weight...

never buy a optiplex labeled as a gaming pc. they fine for an office pc or just for facebook youtube but not any serious gaming

Love the videos . Can I get you're opinion sold a pc on FB market place 2 months ago . Yesterday I got a message from them demanding a refund as it's not working . I offered to have a look for them to which they refused and said they will be getting there bank to return the money .
@RMDTech3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a classic charge back scam. Make sure you offer to let them return it. It sucks, I know. But if you say no returns and they chargeback via their bank then they get the money and the PC. At least this way you get the PC back. Sorry man. This is why I always recommend cash only transactions via Facebook.

I think the only way you could tell it was a scam is by the Postage, you could look at the delivery company and find the weight of the item and see its price, though the scammer could put a legitimate price of more enticingly to the buyer, just add it into the price and have "free" postage. Though i have had negative experiences with returns, because ebay keeps updating the look of the site but not making it any less buggy, meaning pages wouldn't load and returns expire or i can't even submit the return request at all. Glad you got the money back. But i have seen these dell optiplex systems are a popular scam pc, especially these 2nd to 4th gen intel models. some may even send the actual PC but the specs (usually the GPU) can be missing, or is listed as a gaming PC and has some weak AMD 3000-5000 series display adapters. My parents in 2012 way overpaid for 2 dell optiplex 360s with an e7400, 4gb ddr2 and a gt210 thinking they were "gaming PCs" £320....to add fuel to the fire..each.

Can you help me determine if there are any red flags with this PC i'm looking at on ebay? It actually doesn't sound bad for the price considering the specs. I can send you the link if you want.
