For the minecraft related issue, this is usually fixed by including microsoft's opengl compatibility layer which basically just converts all opengl calls into directx 12 which the basic adapter should support. recommend doing a follow-up to this one to see how well this can work out for other games.

I can tell you from experience that some external drives are not certified for long running in a pc so they take all the drives that fail testing in some way and as long as it is stable enough they put it in an external case assuming that it will see less power on time which will extend the life of that drive i used a 1Tb in my pc it lasted 1 year and failed so bad that it did not even show up in bios
