Idk a lot of people thought Carli was a star and one of the best players but she's really embraced this victim thing since she retired.

You misspelled Megan Rapinoe on the victimhood BS ya 🤡

She's not wrong in terms of importance she was the one to carry this team for their two world cup titles in the last decade but it's the Rampinoes and the Morgans that get most of the credit

The one to carry ? Not even close . Didn’t she get benched because of her performance and she pouted about it

Worth watching the full episode- part 1and 2.

I would think in reality maybe some of what she is saying is true and some of it is going on in her head. Either way it was what helped drive her to where she is.

When we started watching the US women's and men's national teams Carli Lloyd was the first player that stood out with us, before the 2015 World Cup. On the outside we see Carli Lloyd, Mallory Pugh, Christian Pulisic, Matt Turner, but on the inside these are professional players that deal with real feelings.

I think she's definitely right about how the more marketable you are the bigger and more frequent the deals you get and the attention you receive from fans. I think we've seen it in big clubs across the world before, I think of it in Manchester United terms out of all the players out of the class of 92 Beckham was the darling of the team, he had the major endorsements and the girl, and the high roller lifesytle whilst players like Paul Scholes who was more humble, quiet and less appealing to the media were kind of dealt with in the rear view mirror. It's interesting how it even showed up in the panning out of their careers too.

My personal nickname for Carli is "ABNP". ( All Business No Play)

I guess I thought she was a star, but definitely don’t remember any commercials with her. As for the other comment on what starts for in the mode that interesting giving Rapione, unless different leadership and what not since.

Carly's retroactive views on this are so tone-deaf. It explains why she was never launched as a media darling to begin with. Being popular in the media has almost nothing to do with an individual's authentic personality. Michael Jordan being perhaps Exhibit A. Carly was always thorny, contrarian, even borderline abrasive. She was estranged from her family for an extended period. I realize that's not all on her, but it speaks to a certain quickness with the "f##k you" attitude that Carly always evinced. Being "popular" isn't something US soccer drives. It's driven by advertisers, consumers, etc. That market figures out quite efficiently who consumers will glom onto, or not. Carly has never been the type who will adopt a public persona for the purpose of pleasing consumers.

Don't you make yourself a star by what you do on the field? When she said she only got recognized when she scored a hattrick, isn't that the case with a lot of players on big teams. She's a good team player and I think most people know who she is if they've ever watched the women's teams.
@jorgeacevedo2872 Жыл бұрын
No she's stating that she had to go above and beyond to be recognized while a Rampinoe took a knee and cried and moan and became more successful than the true hero of the team

Victimhood is her entire personality. The world knew what she was about and sponsors werent interested. So bored of her schtick.

"Everyone wanted to see me fail." Who's "everyone" and why would anyone want you to fail? The victim mentality is strong with this one. And she's a terrible pundit. TERRIBLE!
