Thanks for the memories , dad had a VF , 318 with metallic brown and cream interior , nice drive but the the brakes were underdone , discs would have been nice , thats a good find .

Love yr valiant ive owned 2 vfs in my time my first was a bargain basemodel 3 on the tree 225 just like yrs then i brought a jewl green vf regal aircond bucket bench another bullet proof car boy i miss those cars now i got my VC UTE and just cruise everywhere PS i love the VL too

I ran my mint 1969 318 Valiant as the family car for 12 happy years. Did a dual fuel CNG conversion but loved the 5.2 surge and roar when I flicked the switch!

Yep standard trim owned many . Owned a VF Pacer in 1981 dark blue black trim had alloy spit fire 14 x7 mags and T/A tyres . Index your plugs and adjust your rockers a bit of factory thou don’t forget the two center one are not exhaust Pacer had 3.23 diffs mine had a LSD VF were the first to start running 2.92 diff in some models pacers had higher compression plus different Bob weight in the distuter

Nice pickup. Your VF Sedan looks great for a 54 year old car. Back in the day (,late 70s) I had a white VF Pacer that had been previously fitted out with E37 Charger running gear, it was a rocket! Unfortunately I had to sell it to fund the birth of my first son. Life happens. A few things about your VF: - As you mentioned, the vinyl roof is not original. . Those things are magnets for rust. - Although the car is a Valiant Sedan, the interior appears to be refitted with standard Regal interior. Both Regal and 770 Regal were available for VF. The 770 had buckets with a centre console while the standard Regals were more 'family' orientated hence the bench front seat. - The blue exterior paint is definitely not standard. So, changing the paint would be fine depending on how far you want to go with the rebuild. You can get the original paint code from the compliance plate if you are curious. - If I was to guess, I recon it was 're-done' perhaps 30-40 years ago with these upgrades (,paint & interior). The car is a blank canvas IMHO. I think you can make it whatever you like. Personally, I'd keep the interior and wack a 265/4 speed, making it appear stock. It would be cheap and easy. Not many would know you've upgraded the drivetrain. It's your car so have fun with the old girl... cheers

Most base model normally did not have a front sway bar Cm lower control arm have the extra strength added to them 👍🏻🇦🇺us them with a CM sway bar as there the biggest 👍🏻

BA Turbo will fit into the VF Valiant so much easier , no sump issues . Just a thought , but a sweet car and good to see you will put it back to standard in the future , well done brother . Subscribed .
