PS...JFY, I used black nail polish to paint all of the pick guard and rear plastic screws black. Looks so much better.

@@SoulStringChannel I got my orange blast! it was a B-stock too, it was in good shape, only had to tighten the nuts of potentiometers, which were a bit lose, then i had to smooth some frets, which were a bit signed, by means of thin sandpaper, 800 then 5000, in less than 1 hour of accurate work everything went optimal, the action and neck setup was just ok, now the guitar sounds very well, filterton picks, which i'd never tried before, are very amazing! I confirm it's an interesting guitar, with a very original sound, i'm gonna use it in gigs and recordings.

Thanks for the review. I have the exact same guitar is the same orange colour and love it. The pick-ups are quite unique and the output is sublime! The neck is perfect.

Hey buddy! thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it. Gotta say Harley Benton guitars are generally good but this one is fantastic and not only for the money, just generally as a guitar! totally agree with you on the pickups and neck! I think the only other one they made that gets close is the goth series. Have you tried those?

I recently bought one of the last blue ones Thomann had on 70th Anniversary offer. I got it for a ridiculously low price of 849 DKK (I'm from Denmark but that's less than 125 USD) VAT included. I agree with everything said here and after a bit of setup I absolutely love it. Mine had a dead spot on the 15th fret so I had to do some light fret leveling of the highest frets to get that sorted. I also found that if you like your pickups high (close to the strings) they need more foam under them. As standard the screws just become loose and protrude even more beyond a certain point so I fixed that too. Now it plays like a dream and I think the pickups are great if you like their tonal flavor (I do). The neck and all the body mounted hardware looks and feels really great too. The only thing still giving away that it's a cheap guitar is the tuners since they vary a lot in stiffness when you turn them but they do the job and hold tune just fine so I don't think I'll bother changing them. I might do something to the glossy plastic pickguard in order take the aesthetics a notch higher though (that's subjective of course).

I have one in green burst finish. It was one of the first batch. I put a graphtec nut on it and made a aluminium pickguard which I oxidised with oxiclean. There are negatives, the pick up screws were chewed to bits and the pickups themselves were very tilted and poorly installed, the tuners are poor quality, the cavity under the pickguard was machined very roughly and there was a couple of spots on the neck that felt "gritty". The electronics cavity is huge too, likely to decrease the weight. No microphonic pick ups which others have reported. All in all, with a bit of fettling it is a decent instrument. A change of tuners is in the pipeline.

I was playing a drinking game where I had a sip of whisky every time you said "really". Didn't make it to the end of the video... Seriously now, that was a very good demo and review. I have been thinking about buying this guitar and your sounds and comments were really (dammit!!!) helpful.

Just ordered the blue one as it's on sale for 100euro.. I mean ..c'mon..100euro?? A whole guitar for the price of a Seymour Duncan pickup (although most of them are even way more).??

I might be out to lunch on this one but I bet you could dial in some nice Soundgarden vibes on this guitar. Among many others. Great job making this video. Now I have a better idea what to expect if I decide to pull the trigger as well. Thank you!
@SoulStringChannel9 ай бұрын
Cheers buddy! I think your absolutely correct on the Soundgarden sound! Think this would do it really well! It's just a the kinda out of the norm guitar that fits that style really well. I also seem to remember Chris played a few Gretsch guitars in his time so obviously the pickups would sound similar! Thank you so much for the comment and keep rocking 🤘
