I finally cut open these Aussie gemstones! From agates to prehnite, these were mind blowing!! I got all of these amazing down under minerals from Dan, he sent them over a long time ago and I have finally got the time to slice them open on my 10" Hi Tech Diamond saw! In the first batch of Australian agates you sliced open, either the 3rd/4th stone when you showed us, the 3 grey wavy bands as I saw the halves, appeared to be 3-D instead of flat surface. All your cuts have created interesting patterns. Do you create freeform stones instead of the standard shapes? Many years ago I used to cut-polish freeform stones and set them into my handcrafted Sterling jewelry.

Go with your gut, they are your agates, it's your shop and equipment. Let them get their own if they want to do it different. I find your channel very relaxing and uplifting, keep doing what you are doing. I never subscribe to any channels on a first viewing, yours has been the exception.

Hi FYI a German agate cutter did a show on agates with exit/entrance vents your large Aussie wave hill? orange appears to have prominent vents great show

Wave Hill agates are among my faves.. some of the most intricate fine banding of any agates, colors can be similar to LSA paint agates. There can be a lot of eyes, like on the husk. I hear larger nodules are likely to have a lot of quartz. Last I heard the location is closed to the public. Thanks for sharing!
