Congratulations Emma, I am currently converting a Nissan Civilian to a full time motorhome, Just got it engineered and roadworthied, So rego is next. which is good because as you will find out, everything you will need for the bus is large, So having the bus drivable is a bonus for picking stuff up !! I am at the other end of the life cycle, so My bus is my retirement plan travelling Australia. I will be starting is Tasmania and spending a couple of years there. Who knows, we may cross path's one day 😊 Anyway, best of luck with your bus. Cheers 👍

Congratulations Emma, great bus choice. I've have lived in my coaster almost 5 years now, it's such an amazing way to live, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I am considering updating to a later Japanese import model in the near future also. The thing to be most mindful of with all coasters (especially Japanese imports) is rust, and ensuring you apply a very good quality rust preventative treatment. I live in the snowy mountains in winter time and our roads are salted very similarly to most of Japan in the winter. This causes these buses to rust from the inside out, something I am experiencing with my bus and it's almost impossible to stop once it starts. This is how I will treat my next one, Before I start any internal fitout, I will remove all of the existing interior trim panels to expose as much of the metal body panels as possible from the inside. Then I will apply a good quality rust preventative treatment, and hopefully I will be able to keep the rust at bay. Good luck on your journey ✌️

So I’ll be having a hot water system which will power an outdoor shower and inside I’ll have a sink etc and a compostable toilet but no “proper”/ enclosed bathroom. I spoke to lots of people who said they regretted it as it takes up so much space and weight and I think an outdoor shower with a shower tent will be perfect! 😇

@@emmamaertens If you have your kitchen between the side door and the left hand rear wheels. You could put your sink with a hot and cold tap by the side door, then have positioned so the tap can extend out to an attachment on the side of the door, and shower in the door access area well. Have a shower curtain rail that pulls around for privacy.
