Dear Rene, paper napkins can be unwrinkled. Set your iron on lowest setting, cover your ironing surface with a white cloth hanky place your napkin then another hanky and press lightly. It works! Wa-La! Love tbe vids. Keep up the good work and happy hunting!😊

Some pretty neat finds at this flea market. As a brandnew bookseller, these items might have been also interesting for you: The Lone Ranger´s New Deputy, Kit Carson and the Mountain Men, and (unbelievable !) Wilhelm Ruland´s Legends of the Rhine ! 🙂Good to see that those flea market places are numbered which will avoid a lot of misunderstandings (we don´t have this over here). Great haul, my personal favorites were the year books from the 1920s which tell us a lot of history (e.g. that this school from 1924 was packed with the children of German immigrants, and their hair fashion back in those days 😄). Very entertaining and informative, thanks for taking us along ! Greets from GER, U.

I love the hair! Like a mixture of bed head and "I tried... this is the result" haha :0) The hair, the outfits, the names! Travel back in time to experience high school in 1924, one can wish! So many books, so little time. I'm still waiting to come across some really good book in my recent storage pallet book buy, but alas, nothing... yet! Hope that you had a nice weekend!

At first he showed me the extra napkin & then said he’d put it on the table so others could see it. I didn’t think anything of it & then that’s when he handed it to me & said he was just kidding & had been watching for me to walk by again so he could give it to me. A nice guy for sure!

I like the older yearbooks when the editors or whomever wrote the blurb under the photo, instead of each student having a quote or something. "MILDRED BECK - Ask Mildred why she doesn't go to Church on Sunday night! She's quiet in school but when you get her outside, oh my!" And DANIEL BURKEY - couldn't quite read it but it looks something like, "His boss says he is too slouchy to hold a responsible position." Another one of the guys' notes said something like, "Did you know they don't run for trolleys or girls in NYC because another one will be along in 3 minutes." (used to be able to say all kinds of things back in the day which aren't nice now). Probably some good stories behind those quotes. Matchbooks are remarkable. I found one once from a car dealership my Dad's Uncle had owned way back when - couldn't believe it. Glad you found good things and the FM season is starting strong. Hope you've got more adventures planned for the week! Thanks for the video and have a great Sunday afternoon!

So true on the little yearbook statements! I wonder if they took editing as serious as they do now. I know for my high school yearbook class photo, it had to be taken several times to ensure a "decent one". Then each was thoroughly inspected in case anyone was doing anything "bad". Kids were still able to slip a few things under the radar in the photo statements. I think I had an abbreviation for something that was most likely an inside joke between my friends and I. Can't remember what it means now! Matchbooks and naturally ashtrays were souvenirs that now hold a great history. I have a few ashtrays from local places and like you, places that my family worked. A few adventures are planned for the week, so looking forward to that. Hope that you have a great work week!

I almost always read the comments in Rene’s videos. I will scroll and read, not necessarily looking at commenters name but I’ll start reading a couple of sentences and guess you’re the commenter by your “style” of writing and sense of humor. It’s like I can recognize a few of the regular commenters here. It’s now become part of the whole experience of watching PAM videos!

The year books for a dollar how could you not buy them The comic book artist Robert Crumb grew up in Milford Delaware, my good friend lives there and he is a Crumb fanatic and we have been looking for the Year Book from Crumbs high school graduation Some years back we actually got to meet Robert Crumb, his sister lived in my Town. He got a kick out of us looking for the year book, said if we find it he would trade a drawing for it since he doesn’t have one either I did ok at my Saturday flea market nothing great just some bread and butter stuff

Give it a few more weeks & once the weather breaks and we are a tad bit warmer in the morning, it will be booming! I didn't realize that Reading High School wasn't coed until 1927. Those issues of the Epitome are from the High School for Boys. Probably the other one is for the High School for Girls. Omg that vintage Halloween was AMAZING!!!! Also, I really do appreciate you saying what flea markets you are at! Before when you didn't say where you were I would have to really investigate the surroundings andd look for state license plates and then try to put that all together to google what flea market it was lol. Some are a little too far for me but this one is only about 2 1/2 hours away from me so I may have to take a rode trip one day. Do their hours stay just the one day a week all season? Btw those yearbooks are AMAZING!!!!

They are open every Wednesday & they also do special market events on Sundays (you can check out their website). Just what you need...more books!!! Those vintage yearbooks are interesting. I have a collection of these from my high school, Polytechnic, here in San Francisco, yes, mine are included...and they qualify as VINTAGE, graduated in 1960! Sadly the 1914 building was demolished in the late 70's, due to...earthquake issues. More like land grab and political issues. These also cost the city its 1929 Fox Movie Palace in 1963! Sad. The Poly year book collection spans the years 1918-1965. One is a treasure...June 1943...the year of my birth.
