To collect the notebooks in NULL mode you have to find NULL in all 3 endings, beat classic style while getting every problem wrong, obtain the dangerous teleporter item in party style (which can only be found through vending machines and has a super low spawn rate) and use it after blowing out the candle then walk to the principals office, and for demo mode get all 7 notebooks then go back to every classroom except for the one you were last in, they have all bonus questions you can solve and the last one gives you the portal poster item, go into the room with the scissors poster and on the wall to the left of the poster place down the portal poster and enter baldis basement, after doing all of that you can enter NULL mode and find all notebooks

Hey Keyin. I'm a big fan. You wanna know how to beat NULL Mode? I got you. You remember Filename2, right? Well, NULL is his new name. In this mode, he will be chasing you. You unlocked the mode by using all the fun settings at once. But to actually collect the notebooks in NULL Mode, you also have to encounter NULL in 3 scenarios. The first one is getting all of the answers wrong and beating the game in Classic Mode (something you have actually done before in mods). The second one is getting a Dangerous Teleporter in Party Mode, keeping it until you get all 4 exits. And then, when you blow out the candle, you will teleport to the Principal of the Thing's office, where NULL is. The last one is new to this game. In Demo Mode, you have to get a Portal Poster from the Math Machines (they will offer bonus questions around the end of the game and give you helpful items). When you obtain the Portal Poster, use it in a specific spot (I think it's the room with the Hangman classroom. If it is, use the Portal Poster on the wall near where the Safety Scissors are). It will open up a room with a ladder. Go down the ladder, and now you're in Baldi's Basement. You will have to look around for a room with a weird-looking machine. Then, NULL will appear, giving you another message. After you accomplish all of that, you can actually attempt NULL Mode. I would tell you about NULL Mode itself, but I want you to actually try it out in a KZbin video :).

To pick up a notebook in NULL, you need to do the following: 1) Get Classic Style's secret ending by getting every answer wrong. 2) Get Party Style's secret ending by getting a Dangerous Teleporter and using it after blowing out the candle. 3) Get Demo Style's secret ending by getting all seven notebooks and then solving six more math questions in the previous classrooms. Once you do, you will get an item. Take that item to the classroom with the poster that tells you about scissors, go to the back left corner and use that item on the left wall. From there, figure it out yourself. TIP: In Demo Style, there's a Dirty Chalk Eraser behind the bus.

The reason why null mode didn't work is because null is trapped inside the game and is used to people using hacks to beat his mode, so as an anti-cheat, you can't collect the notebooks in null mode.
