I FINALLY Found The Walmart STEELBOOKS!

if you don’t know: Walmart has $5 steelbooks in the $5 bin. From what I heard, they are dropping more on April 2. Some stores put them out early. I went this morning and got 3 more $5 steelbook movies and vlogged it. I have 6 so far. I love how people are finding these.

I found 11 of them yesterday at another Walmart in my city not my regular one. They only had one copy of the ones they had. I couldn't find any at my regular Walmart the other day but will probably check again in a few days. I also heard someone mention the April 2nd date.

After spending multiple days digging through the $5 dump bin looking like a maniac, I went to my walmart a 3rd time, and they had them stocked down the side of the steelbook endcap. I've found a total of 14 new to me steelbooks from my middle of the nowhere walmart. I'm not complaining about walmart becoming the go to place. Its all I've EVER had.

@@kenpope5798 Bluray of Sicario, John Wick 1+2. 4K of Robin Hood (2018), Saw, Spiral, Universal Soldier, Requiem for a Dream, Midway, Moonfall, Belly, Hitmans Wife's Bodyguard, Chaos Walking, Hunter Killer, 3 From Hell, and blurays of Season 8 walking dead, and season ( I believe 2) of Ash vs evil dead and a couple doubles of the ones I listed. So my walmart was probably best case scenario honestly.

So just to report on the status of this, my community Walmart has only recently dropped steelbooks in the $5 bin. I scored a few today, but the ones I really wanted were either a case of someone beat me to them, or they never got some titles. Either way, glad we got any at all- digging is key though.

Also check the discounted dvd/blu ray bin. My Walmart put the steelbooks in there as well. Mostly lionsgate films like John Wick films

That 4th Blade was the pilot movie for the Blade TV show that came on Spike TV and only lasted one season. Yes, that Terminator TV show does have a blu-ray.

Majority of the Walmarts have the steelbook section. I bought the Oppenheimer 4K steelbook from the Fern Creek location. Also start checking thr $5 bins because they are sneaking in $5 Lionsgate steelbooks for $5 in there! Haven't seen any of those yet, but heard they are coming. Been seeing videos.

Happy that my local Walmart now has a dedicated steelbook rack, but not so thrilled with the selection, which is mostly what you showed in the video. I know Aquaman, The Marvels, Migration, Anyone But You, etc., are top sellers now, but it was a bit of a let down for me. Yours has at least a few good ones that mine doesn't. Anyway, it's a start, which I'm happy about, but hopefully the selection will get a little better over time.

You need to check the Walmart $5 bin I found some steelbooks in there and they rang up as $5. They are are all Lionsgate titles. Most are 4k

I'm glad someone found the steelbooks. I found a lot of dirty looks and sarcasm from teenage workers who don't know the difference between dvd, bluray cd and vinyl. What are they teaching these kids???🤔 Wow! I'm officially a grumpy old man 😄

I have the Terminator Sarah Conner Chronicles on Blu-Ray Steelbook! It has a really nice cover. I've been looking at a lot of the new Wal-Mart Steelbooks. Picked up Dragonheart on Steelbook to upgrade my DVD. Also, Rising Sun is a great movie based on a Michael Crichton book!

I have the Sarah Conner Chronicles on blu-ray as well I think I have single season sets. I really hated they cancelled that show as it was just starting to get real good. Rising Sun is a decent flick based on a novel by a little known author Michael Crichton. I'm sure you'll get much more enjoyment out of it over the two Lost Boy sequels. It does have Blu-ray available so not sure why you opted to pick up the DVD.

There is a blu-ray of The Sarah Connor Chronicles as I own it. The wife and I were really mad they cancelled that show as it was just starting to get real good. I have the single season editions of The Walking Dead so don't need the complete collection set. If I didn't already have the Creepshow 4K I would have gotten it also. I have Rising Sun on blu-ray but haven't watched it probably since I bought it. That Walmart must be a high theft one with all the plastic cases over them. You didn't find any of the $5 steelbooks in the $5 dump bin? I went to another Walmart on the other side of my city and found 11 of them only 1 of each steelbook.

Goodwills are definitely hit or miss, but when you hit, you hit. I check just about every day because it's literally within one mile of my house on my way home from work. Sometimes, I'll walk in and find 15 to 20 and sometimes nothing at all.

@MidLevelMedia funny you got The Village on DVD. Love that movie and so far it hasn’t been out on Blu Ray anywhere in the world. So let’s hope some boutique label does it on 4K as it deserves a proper release. And Rising Sun is a great movie. I got the excellent UK Blu Ray and Tatjana Patitz looks amazing in 1080p upscaled to 4K😊😉

The 2 Wal*marts within 30 minutes of me have 100% DVD. No blu-ray, no 4K (but, a wall of 4K TVs.) This makes sense to someone.

Like most chains today, Walmart largely uses data analysis and market research to determine which items to stock in which stores, so my guess would be that "the algorithm" has determined that there is no demand for them in your area. But I think local Walmart managers probably have some say in it too, so it might not be a bad idea to make it a point to speak with them about it, tell them, "Heh, I was just wondering if you guys plan on stocking any 4K movies in the future...."

@@jimroscovius rural USA, not near any major towns or cities. I would think people use physical media more out here because there is still no access to high speed internet out here. It's still DSL through the phone line or a slow as hell air card from a wireless company.

In my store I am the one setting and trying to maintain the movie section. I have tried my best to keep the new steelbook section filled but it's been near impossible. They won't send me more than one or two copies of each movie, and frankly they are stealing about half of what comes in. I had hoped we'd keep this section but at this rate that's going to be difficult. I've even tried to keep all the $5 versions on the end for easy access but those don't last an hour.

I think Rising Sun is a very good movie I remember seeing it when it came out in 1993 on laserdisc. I believe this is one of Sean Connery's best films apart from James Bond, The Rock and The Untouchables

What is with this rumor in 2024 that Wally World now has an official steelbook section? I checked with Wally's mgrs, and they assure me there is no such thing, storewide. It varies by location, I was told. In fact some store numbers still don't even have any steelies at all. Even worse, most steelies are still only blu-ray - and NOT even 4K. Actually even many 4Ks don't even give you a BD to go with it, like in the old days - the dang things are 4K only. So calm the heck down, people!
