Prior to the creators of South Park taking over and revamping the whole place, the ONLY reason to go there was the Sopaipillas. After the revamp, the Sopaipillas haven't changed, but now the entire menu is fire! BTW, I used to live a few blocks away at 13th & Teller and I have SOOOOO many memories! The little magic shop in the corner right next door, the Gameforce a few doors down, the 3D art on display outside to the right of the entrance, the Boardwalk U.S.A. a few doors down from that; how much time you got?

@@Rekuzan Oh man, you triggered some memories with this one. I remember staring at the Magic Eye for what seemed like an hour as we waited to get inside, we bought a Miracle piano for the SNES at the Gameforce, and Boardwalk U.S.A. was the first and only place I ever fully beat The Simpson's arcade game. Glad I had those opportunities for some good memories. Thanks for the comment!

As a Colorado native I'm kinda ashamed I never went to the original Casa Bonita, but I am glad to hear that Matt and Trey kept a lot of the original charm and primarily just updated the restaurant and experience to make up for the previous short coming of the restaurant. I'm also glad that Matt and Trey used their massive platform and success from said platform to save such a beloved restaurant.

Growing up in the Denver area, Casa Bonita was LEGENDARY amongst kids for the fun atmosphere but reviled by parents for the lackluster food. I only vaguely remember going once when I was really little, because my family couldn't really afford to eat out very often, and certainly not at a place that was just fun and not also delicious. I'm so glad I got to see the inside of the updated version through your eyes since I no longer live in Colorado and may never get the chance to go myself!

That is the problem. Your only getting great Mexican food in either California or Texas, anywhere outside of that is LMFAO at best. Everywhere else seems to have what they "think" Mexican food is, I've been to places in Georgia that literally charged you extra to get rice and beans and it was still extremely mediocre at best
@AwkwardAnxiousJennifer
@AwkwardAnxiousJennifer 3 ай бұрын
@@lutherheggs451 Denver has plenty of excellent Mexican restaurants... Casa Bonita just wasn't one of them when I was a kid. I once had incredibly bland "Mexican" food in a small Central Illinois town that apparently catered to the white locals who thought onions were borderline too spicy, so I know the difference between real and fake Mexican food, lol.

Hey! I live here in Denver and remember going to Casa Bonita when we were kids in the 70's except back then you could go whenever you wanted and we went so often we wore out the joint, but it never got old. The cliff diving show is amazing and if you sat at the right table you'd get splashed with the funny smelling water when the guy hit the pool. Your life isn't complete until you spend an evening at Casa Bonita. Great video!

What a fun place, glad they bought it. Too many restaurants have turned into dull generic boxes. Casa Bonita has remained a unique entertainment restaurant.

While I enjoy all your adventures, I think this trip was truly special. I think this was one of the best places you've shown so far. I believe you covered everything there was to see ( that you could show ). Thank you for taking us with you !

I live in the DFW of Tx, and there WAS a Casa Bonita on the west side of Ft Worth, went there a couple of times AFTER visiting the Denver location while on a band trip in 1983...I'm ancient...

Back in the 70s, my family would go to Casa Bonita in Tulsa after church almost every Sunday. It was like an amusement park. My favorite was the cheese enchiladas. 😊

I'm from Tulsa, we had a Casa Bonita until 2011. They had the best handmade sopaipillas. Endless chicken platter was my go-to order, and we loved sitting by the waterfall ❤

I had no idea this place was so famous, but since I have family in Colorado, I went to the restaurant with my dad and sister. We didn’t even need a reservation. We sat right by the divers, and it was so entertaining! I love this place! I’m glad I got to experience it so naturally, without knowing just how popular it really is.

At first, I was a little skeptical about the prices which I looked up lol but after seeing the whole video and all what’s involved there and all of the jobs that people have there and the fun environment I wouldn’t have any problem spending my money their. There is so much life and smiling faces and that’s to me is everything

Loved seeing your Vlog, The Carpetbagger, come alive after that spicey food+Sopapillas. Proud of you for persevering 👑'clean plate club', compliments 'Casa Bonita' Teams & Chef Loca. Thank you Matt & Trey, 'Casa Bonita Mi Amor' Documentary is beautiful & touching. Future Families & Children get to experience this joy too. Flower's really are blooming in the dessert 🌵❤

I am so glad you got to go before it closed too! And that you actually appreciated it at that time. So many people talk badly about it in Colorado but I've loved it since I was a little girl. I had my 5th bday party there and it was always a treat anytime I got to go. I never understood why so many people here disliked it. I'm so glad it reopened, my husband and I are on the waiting list but it seems like it's a long wait lol. I'm glad I was already on the wait-list when your video came out because I have a feeling the list probably got quite a bit longer after people watched this. Also, the towers gets less chaotic the more you have. Its part of a natural growth pattern, things fall apart so others can fall into place. Its not always as bad as it seems especially if you've been through it before.
