I finally got Sonic Frontiers after 2 years...

I recently got Frontiers too. I finished The Final Horizon 3 days ago and the ending was pretty good. I don't regret getting this over shadow generations

You should def try out mods for this game, they add SO much to this game and gives it a completely original new additions, such as the beta island for Kronos island, new physics, new cyberspace textures and stages, models, music, and a lot more

Too bad Sonic Team chose the "apologize in their faces" instead of "apologize by finally making something good and meaningful" route. If anything, the Family Guy cutaway-style writing made it feel no better than Colors' story to me.

I'm in the same case as you, I got the game 1 year after it released. And I didn't regret playing the game late, cuz the gameplay is original and completly different than the others Sonic's games. I like this format of open zone game, cuz with Sonic's speed, we can appreciate the game in a different way and appreciate its landscapes. But I would like to say sometimes it may be very difficult to control Sonic, cuz the camera doesn't want to move as you want, and the Super Sonic's bosses are really hard. I sometimes compare those to Elden Ring's 💀. But try to play Sonic Frontiers with a controller cuz it's very difficult on keyboard.

Yeah it felt weird when my camera moved like how a controller did, so I did have to get used to it. But overall the game really does feel well polished compared to past year releases.

I actually played it for the first time two months ago on my cousin's xbox..but we were staying in their place for two days( 1 day and half to be exact) so i played the f outta the game without being familiar with the mechanics and gameplay and i was able to beat the knight right when my family were waiting in the car for me to finish the game..cool memory

I do agree with the polishing part, it definitely can have much better controls. But Sonic has been slowly making his comeback and Sonic X Shadow Generations seems really promising, so I do hope that if there was a Frontiers 2 it would be way better:D

@@Xafyre I saw how they're polishing the cutscenes animations to match the marza cutscenes as best they could and they're doing really good, the clear animation also has a lot of personality and they even animated his quills correctly, not only that, visually the games lighting is amazing which is showed off the best in the bits we've seen of sunset heights

Dude this is the exact same with me. I was so excited for the game when i heard about it, back when it was sonic rangers, then everything about it seemed to just rush by and i didnt even know the game released for a while until i saw some poster on those construction wall things. Alas, i ended up just forgetting i saw the sign and never got it. Then like a week ago i got the game and played through the whole game in a couple of days and i absolutely loved it. Ive always thought the recent sonic gameplay has been super janky imo, and i hate how they can never just choose to either stick with using 3d to its fullest or going with 2d, where they randomly just have some 2d sections. Now frontiers does have some of that, mainly with the cyberspace stuff, but i can let that slide cuz cyberspace is kind of like minigames. Anyway, i think the open world feel imo is much better, and the bosses are absolutely phenomenal. Combined with the amazing music, actually good writing, and good story its just so amazing.

What did you thought about the character development and interactions?

I think it was really well done. Sonic still quips here and there but understands when a situation is to be taken seriously, Amy understands she can't stay in one spot and wants to share her love to other parts of the world, Tails believed he wasn't helpful at all, but was told by Sonic about all the great things he has done, leading to him being more confident in himself. Knuckles wants to experience the outside world but doesn't know how to, Sonic said to just go out and live a little. All these interactions really adds to the story and that's why I really liked it. I probably didn't say it properly in the video though, my bad mate 😅

Monster Hunter mentioned 👀 Thinking of making videos on that franchise too? As for Sonic Frontiers, I'm not really seeing what everyone else is seeing. The gameplay just feels too shallow to me, and I think it's because I've been spoiled by fan games. I hope you enjoy the rest if the game though! There are good things about it, like the Cyberspace stages in The Final Horizon.

Yeah I've been working on a Monster Hunter vid, though I barely have time to record and edit cuz of work xD. But yeah we've been getting fed with so much sonic fangames that mainline games may seem way weaker compared to them, but I still believe that SEGA can create good sonic games, seeing how sonic is making his comeback:D
