i finally learned how to candle run

I did a proper candle run this time with the goal of getting as many candles as I can possible get.

U can cr 20 candles a day.. as followed ---> (Geyser 2x, grandma 2x, the fly race, stand race and hermit race in valley, boost realm with candles infront of "gates" , vault of knowledge (just the floors), hidden forest and daylight prairie.) Also do the music challenge to! And if there is shard event for 200x wax, u can do that to! This route is what I use for cr daily for 20 candles a day, in a week (with weekend) you'll have 140 candles. It only takes 2h for it, it's pretty good.

You can get 19 with just a visit to geyser, 2 to grandma, all of prarie and forest, and using the Arora warp in vault to get to the end of called and village of dreams.

We technically have a shard event in Peaks as long as Days of Nature last, so that´s 200x wax every day for this week. ;D

@@kkplayssky You can do them as much as you wish; they´re set per specific hours and you only need to catch the minutes of them, like xx:05 for geyser and xx:35 for Grandma. Only limit is the wax amount these events give you. 🤭

Every chevron on the candle is 5 candles, showing that you can make 15 candles while those are up, and then it turns to a dot, then the candle meter turns grey after 20-21 candles (in my experience). My favorite thing at Grandma's is when people are in a shared space with items to burn the balls of light so you can just sit there and mess around or go afk for a bit. Addition- the Valley races are once a day so you can't spam them. And sometimes I'll run Prairie, Valley, and Vault between timed events because those are usually every two hours

It's totally a good decision to just enjoy the game man, i used to candle run for months in that game and it was definitely not a good idea, i had to quit for a long time because it wasn't good for my mental health to do this. I used to get EVERY single little candle in EVERY map, EVERY day for at LEAST two hours (the fastest way without glitches and other players helping me with two-player doors). I always think this is such a big problem in the game, the fact that we only get 20 candles max per day when cosmetics and stuff cost at least 60 to even 140 candles. Imagine having to waste 2 hours for 3 to 7 days playing this with the only purpose of spending your candles in a single minute for a second of gratification, couldn't be me!

yeah same I used to do like 10 heart trades every day, after I quit it took me like five to six months to get back to sky, I don’t pay much attention to the cosmetics anymore

One new thing for wax they added in with the arrival of Cinnamoroll is the free cinnamon roll you can get in the Aviary's Café at any time. It gives a pretty sizeable amount of wax but like the Valley of Triumph races it's a one a day type deal. The café is past the Aviary's Music Shop under 3 big green cloth awnings. Just take a seat anywhere inside and you'll be served.

16:59 hello, KK! you can actually dive underwater and find clam shells which can give you a lot candle wax. also, i suggest you go to Vault of Knowledge. it might be annoying to candle run in there bcos of the sheer amount of cutscenes and multi-player doors but VoK has a LOOOT of candle cakes.

Hey KK! It’s nice to see that your progress in the candle run is going really well and you understood how it works in the game. There are some other places that also give you a lot of candles, but I’m pretty sure a lot of people have already pointed that out in the comments haha 😆 Also, what you said at the end of the video is so true, and I agree with it. Doing a candle run every day is exhausting. I don’t mind getting 15 candles every day because it’s really easy to get, but when I try to get 20 candles, it just gets boring and harder, as you said in the video. It’s also one of the reasons why I quit playing Sky for a few months because I don’t like grinding the game every single day. But I’ve learned now that it’s better to just enjoy the game rather than forcing yourself to grind every day just to get cosmetics. So just have fun in the game and don’t pressure yourself KK 🤗💝 Also, the cape that you’re trying to get will actually come back next year! So don’t feel bad if you missed it KK, I’m sure you’ll get it next time 😄

I did get some tips from the comments. I didn't know that we could do the timed events twice. That's cool. I quit playing Genshin Impact for the same reason. It was just grinding and grinding and grinding. It just sucks the fun out of the game. And I felt like it would be the same with Sky if I do CRs everyday. I did read a few comments saying that the cape will be back next year. So, all is not lost haha

If you stand at the rear of turtle you can collect wax. Plus there are clams that give a ton of wax underwater! If all else fails you can buy some candols 🙈

Ohhh I forgot about the clams. I'm not gonna do candle runs to get to 180 cause I can't spend that much time just for a CR and I didn't enjoy it either Buying is only option haha. But then again, even after buying, I will have to spend all my candles for this cape and start at 0 again I think it will be better if I start saving up a few candles everyday so that I can get something in the future events Also, I did buy a cape.

You can actually skip some of the doors in hidden forest, so you don't have to deal with the doors not opening. the first door you can just fly through the gap at the top of the door, and the second and third you can just fly over them, but you'll need to land closer to the third door so you get teleported to the area after.

Here's a tip for cr kk! When i go to geyser i cr the whole daylight prarie realm and get 10 candles, i usually start my cr of the realm first then get geyser, its whaterver you wanna do afterwards too. I also do many different routes in my cr which sometimes does give me less candles but its not repetitive so it keeps the fun in candle running.

It's a shame that you did not enjoy fully doing the candle run, however I appreciate that you are learning a little bit about the game mechanics. Lots of people have already commented you about that so I won't repeat it. I'd say that for someone who's busy, I'd agree it's best to have a short but consistent CR, if you work for long enough you will build a decent amount so you can get stuff. One thing i wanted to mention is that I'm surprised how this video's view count went up so fast, I guess people were excited about seeing you get some candles hahaha I also wanted to mention i really liked this small transitions between scenes it's simple but effective.

the ideal candle run is starting about 50 minutes before giezer starts. do earth/wind/fire trial(after getting good at short cuts. you need alt accout for it btw). after that do vault. then all praries ending in geizer. then all forest ending with grandma. then turtle. that should give you 20 in about an hour and a half. for turtle you dont have to ride the turtle, just collect ALL the shells. if you're a bit short for whatever reason then music challange/race should top you up. but you shouldnt need it.

I personally think the crabs are grateful for you setting them free. That's like, the one place in the game that crabs are friendly. @@kkplayssky Yeah, I think I mentioned it before, but I mostly stick to the big cakes, with a few small fry if they aren’t too out of the way, and don’t worry too much about Grandma and stuff. Technically, I have an individual routine for each realm and they can be done in whatever order feels best.

Candle runs can definitely be a grind daily. It’s great you wanted to try it out but enjoying the game is more important. My advice to you would be just stick to the “big ticket” candle wax locations. Treasure candles, black shards, events like geyser and grandmas. Don’t worry about the amount of candles, focus more on the time you wish to give grabbing that light. Say for example you give yourself one hour a day…. Get the treasure candles and clear the realm dailies are in. Hit a black shard if time permits and cap off with one of the events. Also, did you know any seasonal candles left over at the end of a season will be converted to regular candles. That is another good source of candles if seasonal items don’t really interest you. Good luck and perhaps I’ll see you out there collecting light one of these days.

That's good advice DG and it is what I'm planning on doing as well. Just get the big ticket ones like you mentioned. And those timed event can be done twice right? So that's a good amount of candles I really felt like I would get tired of Sky if I did CRs everyday. It reminded me of when I played Genshin and quit because I was so focused on the grind. @@kkplayssky Yes, you can do events multiple times a day however, there's a catch....geyser gives 1000 points, grandma gives 800 and the turtle gives 600. hitting all three events is good but if you do, the next round at grandma's will result in only 600 points then 400. It's complicated and time consuming so I'd focus on hitting them only once as well as big ticket candle wax. Especially if you aren't going for the full 21 candle max. Myself, I like the grind and have the time so here's my route.... Forest first, treasure candles next, then a black shard if there is one. Then focus on the dailies until time to hit geyser, then a race, grandmas and right after the turtle. I cap off with vault and the rest of daylight prairie if needed. Its a lot but can be done in an hour and a half if you run hard. I wouldn't recommend it as it is a grind. But.... But..... I can afford just about anything TGC throws at me at any given time due to repeated candle runs over the last year. That's right, one year and I've gotten everything and 3500 candles by grinding every day. but that's just me, I like to grind. You should be fine with 5 to 10 a day and picking only things you really want from travelling spirits. My friends just cr until the chevrons are gone and that gives you 15 candles, it can easily be done with sticking to just big ticket wax runs and only half hour to an hour of collecting. I like that you choose to collect what makes you happy and fulfilling. When it feels like work, back off for a bit. Good luck and maybe I'll drag you along one of my runs one of these days, lol

Watching this video reminded me that I also wanted that cape so bad, sadly when Days of Nature started i was getting burnt out of Sky (I'm back again playing) so i basically stopped to play for some weeks and I didn't get anything from that event lol but then i realised it was okay, I'm kinda sad and i didn't get it but maybe next year it gonna come back :] Something similar is happening to me with Days of Colours, I'm playing everyday but I'm not gonna buy anything except for the tickets cosmetics like the mask and the hairstyle, the cosmetics i wanted are iap or extremely expensive and i realised it was not worth it to stress over those cosmetics when imo they aren't the best cosmetics anyway, and they will come back!! It is hard to not get stressed with cr everyday when everything is so expensive in sky so what i do is that when I'm cr i just stop and look around and enjoy the game, sometimes i take pictures with the camera and just look everything

Yo 14 candles for 90 minutes is considered as a fast one. I have tried to get 20 in a day, for 3 hours and oh man it's torturing. It's all goes back to your "enjoying the little things" video where someone commented something like "you can't enjoy the game if you're stressing over a cosmetics"
