Love what you did to your Jeep. This is exactly what I hope to do with my Jeep at some point. I don't plan to add any spacers.

Do you think 275/70/18 would fit with that same lift and wheel spacer without a pinch weld

I plan on doing some of the same mods, love your videos! Do remember what size tire you were running before your lift, like these in the video? Keep up the great work, I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Awesome work bro! Thanks

You should have went a 3-inch lift it would look a lot better or even a 4-inch lift 2in doesn't get it for me I've got the same Jeep and I got a 4 inch lift on there with 285 tires on 17 inch wheels it looks awesome

Looks great sitting level and a little higher. Looking forward to the additional upgrades. I'll be curious how the tires perform and how loud they are.
@ShiftedPerspective8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The tires are barely louder than the stock Goodyears, it's awesome!

LOVE the look of it being lifted. i have an 06 overland and am wanting to do the same thing to it. But after having it lifted, i have read a lot of different claims (regardless of what type of lift used) that just the act of lifting the vehicle itself can cause problems due to changing the vehicles center of gravity and therefore changing the stock angles for all other parts that connect to it. Have you experienced any of these issues? Im stuck between getting a full suspension or just doing the spacer set up like you did. Spacer saves me money now but could cost me more down the road if it just slowly breaks all the other parts with it. Any help/advice is appreciated! Thanks.

I installed a rough country 2 inch spacer lift about 2 years ago now, and 265 70 tires, left everything else stock. So far *knock on wood* it's been great and no problems at all. I did swap out the rear shocks with bilstein 5100s this past summer, so I could have shocks that are balenced and sit neutral in the range of travel. Other than that add on though, no problems and no regrets. Just make sure to get an alignment afterwards.

IF you do plan on doing a considerable amount of off-roading, than I would tell you to bite the bullet and get a suspension lift and new upper a arms. If you just plan on normal driving though, a spacer is fine IMO.
@ShiftedPerspective7 жыл бұрын
+Ben Morin lifting will naturally raise the center of gravity which makes it harder to maneuver in emergency situations. 2" is fine with a spacer lift, but if you go more then definitely go the full suspension route. 2" is great for me, but not that noticeable in general on the road. Unless you're going over 6" I wouldn't worry about other components like tie rods, axles, sway bars because those are normally recommended with bigger/heavier tires. Just depends what you're going for
@benmorin56727 жыл бұрын
Good points. My ideal balance would be achieving some additional off road capabilities via some sort of lift (weather it be spacers or a full system) but the vehicle is also my daily driver so i need it to function on a daily basis on roads as well. Are there any Spacer lifts that you would recommend or ones that i should avoid?

Great looking Jeep man. Did you have to do any type of modification to get the new spare tire to fit. I want to do a lift also with 265 70 17 tires but am unsure if this will fit in the default spare tire location.
@ShiftedPerspective6 жыл бұрын
I left the spare stock. I have a compressor if I get a flat

Brandon, great mods! It looks much better. Take a time to know your new car behaviour because the driving dynamics have changed, especially with the increased center of gravity. Recently it has been published the "new" Toyota Hilux 2016 fails moose test.
@ShiftedPerspective8 жыл бұрын
+torre1976 Vs yeah I would assume my Jeep would have an issue passing that test unfortunately. Handling is much better now, but I've added weight and height so there's that.

Also did u experience any issues with electronics after this lift and bigger tires? Such as tpms, esc, etc...? Any advice I'd appreciate because I planning doing the exact same to my wk
@ShiftedPerspective7 жыл бұрын
+John Terrizzi all electronics were fine. Keep in mind bigger tires will change the speedometer reading. There are conversion calculators online that will tell you the speed reading difference with bigger tires. I also got spacers because the front rubbed slightly on the swaybar
@rattletrap50187 жыл бұрын
Brandon B thanks soo much for the help. I wanna do what u did to my wk but I read on forums that all the electronics will be off, the tpms traction control and everything.

Does it have an any effect on the steering? Do you let out tire pressure if you are taking it off road?
@ShiftedPerspective8 жыл бұрын
Steering is pretty much the same. I usually just leave the pressure the same since I've never needed to do any serious rock crawling.
@dukenukem57687 жыл бұрын
I don't like the current fashion for a nose-down stance, especially in a 4x4. Reminds me of those cartoons when a car is screeching to a halt. You have levelled it more but not completely I think.
