From the factory, my 2006 WK had the 235 size tires & they were okay but when I'd look at my Jeep from an angle or further away after exiting a store, those 235's looked abit too small for the 4,500lbs the damn thing weighed. So, I went up to the 245's. Definitely better grip on the road with those and I didn't have to use any spacers or anything.

Yeah I agree. 235s are wayyyyy to skinny of a tire. Especially on the 5.7

How did they look? I’m thinking of getting the 265 just because they look nice lol

Glad I saw this. The sawzall made quick work of that metal. I was about to use a grinder and cutting wheel. I’m definitely going to spend more time on the fender liner however.

Sawzall for the fender line too, lol.

I did the pinch weld on my jeep since I am running 265/70/17 but I did not cut the fender weld, I see it does rub on plastic when making u-turns only, a little rub on plastic ain't got to hurt or damage tires I think. plus I might do a u-turn maybe 4-5 times a year...

44lilron until you go offroad and the suspension articulates and the metal being the plastic cuts your tread off.. just saying
@RealPureHD8 жыл бұрын
yep just had that happen to me... well except the tread cutting.... getting this done as soon as i get back to the states
@44lilron8 жыл бұрын
Adam Adam I went ahead and did the pinch weld that day, I get slight rubbing only when backing up...

44lilron true... My biggest problem ATM is I got the rivets but I can't seem to find a tool online for them...
@44lilron8 жыл бұрын
PuRe x Gaming I just used snap ring pliers to push the middle pin in and pulled them out, then purchased some from Autozone that are more efficient to removing.

Great video. Thanks for posting this. What size rivets to use for the2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I cant remember, I think I might have used 1/8?

Does the liner come out easy after removing the rivets? I need to replace the O2 upstream sensor on a WK and this seems like the only way to access it, the upstream sensor on the other side is a mf also. After 100k these sensors are done, the heater usually goes bad first then it triggers codes because its not going into closed loop fast enough and might also drop out at idle.
@TheDavisRanch15 жыл бұрын
It’s easy, you can get the kit that comes with new rivets at harbor freight. Or you can get standard nylon push retainers on amazon or at your local auto parts store. Good luck!

@@TheDavisRanch1 Thanks, push the rivet center pin in with tool or drill out?
@TheDavisRanch15 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry, I re-read your question and realized that I didn’t really answer what you were asking. I drilled out the old rivets, from what I remember the liner came out pretty easily after those were out. Luckily I never had any issues with my O2 sensors, I did have to replace my coils at 150k though.

@@TheDavisRanch1 Thanks, its best to change them at 100k especially the upstream sensors as they control air/fuel ratio. They wear like spark plugs and response will lag over time lowering mpg. $25 each on walmart.com.

Could I change the manifold gasket on a 5.7 hemi through the wheel well?
@OverlandTT8 жыл бұрын
Wow you don't have any wheel arch liners in the wheel wells?

But now you have a wonderful pocket for those tires to throw muck up into. Did you eventually fill that cut-out section back in?
@thejackofalltrades26928 жыл бұрын
44.. Harbor freight has a tool. and to take them out just drill them out. I would put the plastic retainer clips in to hold it. that is what I have in mine and they work just fine

hey what is that drill called?

What did you use as a sealer that rubber spray

+Daniel Rodriguez OME HD struts/shocks with a 2in spacer in rear and 1/4in spacer on struts. Running 285/70R17's with 2in spacers and very minor rubbing.

i cringed when i watched you painting so close to that uncovered wheel. i've been painting for 30 years and definitely would have had that tire and wheel covered up.

just saying i would have only cut out the bump where the pinch weld was on the plastic and tried to find another way to cover up the hole.

No doubt.....then he says he's going to wait until it dries. Guess he must have waited 5 days as that's how long it would take that thick. What a sloppy looking finish....then he actually cuts the wheel well so it shows....lol.

You should also clean everything with soap water and maybe rubbing alcohol before any kind of paint or sealer, while you're taking the time to do this it only hurts to cut corners. I would have done before even cutting/folding the weld. Take no chances with rust here in Atlantic Canada
