Nothing will ever sound as good as that stock head unit. Audio is what I do. Lexus got a badass sound processor. My best numbers were 153.1 DB meter on the dash, driver's door open 151 sealed. 15-in subs 5K amp.

I did the exact same thing a year ago. I installed the EONON brand with the 10 inch screen. I installed it in an 07 Avalanche along with the backup camera, bluetooth microphone and WiFi antenna. Easy install just like Scotty said. I also installed a 10 inch drop down in the ceiling and remote start. It was all simple if you are willing to take your time.

Sammir Condezo Perhaps look online for a thin sheet of ABS plastic. I’ve seen some that has texture that closely matches surrounding trim. It’s thin enough to cut with a blade. Good luck!

Go for it! Just make sure you get EVERYTHING you need, and that it is for YOUR VEHICLE. I was the same way about putting a head unit in my 2005 Trailblazer. After watching quite a few videos, and doing a bunch of research on the forums, I went to Wal-Mart, bought the wiring harness and the dash kit for my vehicle, and the head unit I wanted. Just make sure that you do research your vehicle to find out if you can fit a double din or single din unit. Some vehicles, particularly 90's GM, had what they call a din and a half, where, unless you got some custom fabrication done, you could only fit a single din radio, so DO YOUR RESEARCH! It always pays off.

I’d reccomend the zbark brand they make some that are completely plug and play, no need for faceplates, wiring adapters, etc. They hookup to your factory connector.

Thanks for your great information. I have been updating my 04 Mercury Grand Marquis. I did have to replace the original stereo and speakers. My head unit is just s $45 cheapie unit, but it does work, with BT, and backup camera. The wiring harnesses for the unit and the speakers make all the difference when installing. The best thing is the backup camera, considering the size of this car. Keep on giving us the great info!

They're not too bad. Changing the control arms or the knock sensor is no picnic on the es300 or es330. Fairly common problems. Cars are solid though.
