I finally played the Forty Thieves Quest in Assassin's Creed Mirage...

Assassin's Creed Mirage's Forty Thieves Quest was a pre-order bonus for the game but since I was provided a copy of Mirage by Ubisoft I didn't have access to the quest until they made it available to get through Ubisoft Connect. Only...I didn't have enough Units to unlock it, so after grinding some challenges and leveling up my Ubisoft account, I've finally gotten around to playing the Forty Thieves Quest in Assassin's Creed Mirage. The only thing left in the entire game I haven't completed yet. I hope you enjoyed this brief adventure with me!

I'm from Baghdad, I was very happy and in tears when this game got announced, finally a game set in Baghdad about our history and culture and not another war game.. i bought the collector's edition and despite being against microtransactions, i had to buy all the content, just to encourage companies to make more of Baghdad and Mesopotamia in general I am little disappointed that it's not a main entry AC game, and there are many lazy design decisions from the technical point of view.. but other than that i was very happy You can visit the old market in Baghdad (especially the copper market) to see what inspired the 1001 nights folklore

Assassin's Creed Mirage is the 13th main line entry to the Assassin's Creed franchise but it was originally intended to be a DLC for Valhalla but Ubisoft saw the potential in the game and give the developers the extra time and money to make this a main line entry

Really enjoy just walking around in Baghdad in the game. I think they did an awesome job on how it feels in general.

@@PiercingEditz I know all that, what I mean it wasn't intended to be a big budget as other main entries, it was just a DLC that they expanded, not a full AAA blockbuster title, it was AA title they neither made it as big of a scoop as the recent trilogy, nor they made it as detailed and well designed as the last smaller scale titles like Unity or Syndicate, nor it seem that they're intersted in expanding it further or releasing DLCs for it but like I said I am very happy with it nonetheless, the game was fun and interesting, and they nailed the history, culture, and settings (although Baghdad sits at the edge of the fertile crescent, just before the western desert, so it's more green than what's depicted, but that's just a nitpick)

I REALLY liked this one! When I was a kid I was completely in love with the stories from the 1001 Nights. Ali Baba was my all time favorite. Being able to (very indirectly) interact with his story was such a nice treat.

The forty thieves outfit is actually my favorite in the game. It lacks the conspicuous hood but still looks like an assassin's uniform. Basim blends into the crowd better wearing it, in my opinion.

For those hardcore completionist who must have everything 100% filled out, the second clue for Marjuna's letter was brought up in the patch notes for 1.0.7, (A Dance with Thieves: Murjana's second clue is optional and isn't required to complete the quest. It will only show on the investigation board if the player interacts with the letter while Fuladh is in Harbiyah Bureau.) doesn't say fixed just a weird trigger I guess.

I played this mission recently and when you die during the mission, all of the enemies in the cave double up for some reason. I only died once but the 2 enemies standing guard becomes four and same with the first two enemies in the big room.

I am glad that you get to do a little more with this DLC, but the quest really didn't feel that special. In fact, it was really f cking boring in all honesty. Like it's cool if you care about the Alibaba stuff, but the gameplay was just boring. The quest is: You go to this place in the Wilderness. There's a small camp in front of a cave entrance that has two huge doors. You kill all the guards in the small camp. Then you go back to the city, do some sort of tagging on doors or something, kill more guards. And then go back to the cave entrance, kill several more guards while going in the cave. And the goal at the end of this is just to get more in-game currency loot. That's it. The quest doesn't really try to force you to do outside of the majority of things you can do in the game already. So... meh? I guess it can be fun if that's your thing. But it's really nothing special tbh.

This quest is one big misinterpretation of the original story and in addition, extremely lazy and stupid misinterpretation, that has no value and a completely opposite morality. The original story was deeper than this simpletons west world parasitism on names. Literally, every street kid that know the original could make a better story out of this, but of course not Ubisoft, for them it's just scam for extra $10 bait, because "Loooook, famous name here, probably great content, totaly worth it!" Upd. God, there are people in comments who think it's a retelling of the original. WTF It's literally just generic side quest

As an Egyptian i use to watch the cartoon on TV as a kid, the quest doesnt do justice to the story. A lot of stuff from Arabian Nights can be adopted into games and movies, but the west fears propping up Muslim culture, they would rather make Band of Brothers 10 more times instead.

While I commend Ubisfot for trying to go back to roots I think they screwed up the combat. This is neither the great flowing combat we had in Oddysey nor is it the fun parrying stuff we had in Unity. I really dont understand what is it with UBisfot not wanting to use things that already worked.

You know, I was lucky enough to have saved right before eliminating all the guards outside the cave, and entering inside, because I felt dissapointed and confused when I just took all the thieves, including the King out stealthily. When I went back to my save, I took them all out again, except I left the king alive, and fought him in a duel. They both have interesting fight-dialogue, and you actually get to see him use the fire-sword, which then explains Murjana's reaction to the broken sword.
