I hope you go back and play second quest sometime... get the maps early and make sure every square is visible on the screen so you can see everything. Hoverbat redesigned the game so it would be harder at the start and easier at the end (if you got everything) You are so skilled at the game I hope you try it with the randomizer on, and put the keys in there if you are a real masochist. But with the randomization things like the fire spell to light torches and extra caves to by pass item lockouts keep the game fair. Example - you can get from the north to the south of the first continent with: the Jump spell & Hammer per usual, but you can also do it with (Fire spell, Power Bracelet, or Glove) If you didn't realize: (It was hard to tell with the cuts) The necklace restored mana/magic over time The red Fairy took health (about 2 blocks) when it saved your life. Oh, and as for the Erdrick thing, in the original Final Fantasy game, there was a tombstone that says something like "Here lies Erdrick" and I think that Square did this as a bit of a jab at Enix who were rivals at the time. If memory serves me correctly, after Square and Enix merged, they released updated versions and instead said "Here lies Link". I figured that this is just a nod to that. It would also be tough to incorporate the characters of Final Fantasy as they had no canonical names, as far as I know. They are just the warriors of light and the player names them before the start of the quest.

Yeah, this wouldn't be able to be run on the original hardware. Even if you could fit the new assets into a cart, the hardware would likely not be able to render all of the additional graphics to the larger screen. The game only renders so many tiles and adding the additional tiles that are not rendered because that content would be off the screen I imagine would be far beyond the original hardware's capabilities. That said, this does look like a very fun remake.
