This is my go-to shoe right now. It's not a dramatic ride, it kind of disappears on foot. But it handles everything with zero issues. Except the shoelaces, they are crap, have to re-tie after 400m unless I double knot them. I liken them to a carbon frame bike; dampens the ride yet has all the responsiveness. Not since Skechers Hyperburst have I felt a midsole that is both cushioned AND responsive. Other shoes in my rotation are NB SCT, Adidas Boston 11, NB Rebel2, and Saucony Speed3. I almost always grab the Superblast.

My favourite shoe. I have two pairs and the latest is of the same colour. For a heavy novice runner this is the perfect long race shoe. Sizing though is a nightmare, along with the fact that I could not find my size (US 12) easily in Greece. I must say, that in order to shine, it needs to brake in for 50-60 km. However, looking the design of Hoka cielo X1 I would love to compare them (which I would certainly do) in the future.

Lol i see you post so many damn shoe videos and you're telling me you only just now tried the best shoe of all time. Make sure to run at least 50k in them or more before giving a proper review, i remember them being quite stiff and actually not good the first few runs. But after the ff turbo loosens up... oh boy. I got about 700k in them and they're still going. They're good for any pace, any distance, any workout and normally i would've retired shoes around the 400-500km range because of it bottoming out. Can't wait for the Superblast 2, probably releasing soon. But just in case the superblast 2 could end up being worse, i'm buying another pair of v1 before then 😂. The best longrun/marathon training shoe i ever had. I'm sure you're gonna eat your words after breaking them in more.
@mattbeier7 ай бұрын
I almost bought a pair of Superblast last week. After talking to a buddy who’s had several pairs, he said he’s been using the Atreyu Race Model for everything he used the Superblast for plus more. I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Race Model that I’ve been thinking of getting since they came out. First run (moderate pace 8 miles with strides) in, they are a fantastic shoe and really comfortable. The Race Model has the feel of an updated Endorphin Speed 2, but more comfortable and a flexible carbon plate for only $120. You should definitely pick up a pair of Atreyu Race Models, especially given the price.
@JRuns7 ай бұрын
I bought the Race Model as a cheaper option to run fast miles in training to save my race shoes for races... then I just started racing in them. If I got hooked up to a metabolic cart and did a bunch of testing, I may find out they are marginally less efficient than the Adios Pros I raced in, but I'm sure it would be splitting hairs. I'm a total shoe geek, but it's hard to justify buying anything else when the Race Model is so comfortable, fast, and affordable.

The beauty of the shoe is the mix of weight and stack height. It gives you protection without a ton of weight. The upside you have is not feeling as tired as in similar but more heavy shoes
@tomrichardson54337 ай бұрын
I got mine last fall a month before my marathon. I did three long runs and a few easy runs in them, then wore them in the marathon. I would describe them as firm, cushioned, and light. Maybe by cushioned I mean protective; after 20 miles, my metatarsals tell me if my shoe has been good to them, and the Superblast was good to them. Compared to the Novablast, there are some family similarities, but the NB is softer and heavier because of the foam and upper. NB feels like the shoe for daily trainer things, though it's also good for long runs. SB is good for long runs, but it has been on hiatus for winter where I live. I will try it on some faster pace work in the current cycle. As a stiff, unrockered shoe, it rides a little different, at least at my pace (typically 9:30). Really, Triumph is more pleasant for easy runs. Regarding grip, it rained all night before my marathon and the pavement was wet the whole time, and no grip issues. Feels like better grip than NB 3.

I tend to prefer max cushion shoes like Tempo Next, More V4, SC trainer, Prime X Strung, etc. I had to try the Superblast .. but I've not been impressed. It's probably the most "generic super shoe" that I own. If you look at the 4 shoes I've mentioned above, they all have a little something special/wild. The Superblast is protective for sure but it feels to me like a shoe I can easily forget that I'm wearing, which is not necessarily a bad thing but not exciting either. Lastly the upper/fit is a bit weird.

This is the same conclusion I came to, the Superblast is overkill for my needs and my other shoe options. As much as I'd love to see you do a sub-3 marathon in these, make sure you're doing what's best for your race prep. I know your marathon is just a few weeks away. I'd like to try the Superblast as a long run shoe but only because Asics gives a nice discount for healthcare workers. Otherwise, I wouldn't. I agree that the Novablast is a great value. If I'm remembering correctly, it seems like all of your kids' birthdays are clustered pretty close together. :)
@adayexpired63707 ай бұрын
I think very big difference between sizes. You really needed a 10.5., I feel. Changes where it bends at the metatarsal/toes. I’ve noticed there’s a huge difference in ASICS feel between sizes because my feet are between sizes. Really shouldn’t take proper fit so lightly imo. I actually wear these half size smaller than I do other brands. I have small feet and usually wear 41 in most brands, but ASICS comes in .5. If order 40, it’s 40.5. If order 41, it comes as a 41.5, at least - where I live. So, whereas I get a 41 in every other shoe, I get a 40.5 in Asics. It’s a huge difference for me at least because if I go up, it’s a full size difference than normal for me. It is comfortable at all speeds for me. And I think it doesn’t need a break in myself. Feels comfortable at any speed. Saucony Triumph really doesn’t do well at higher speeds for me as reference, though feel about similar in lower speeds for me. And yes, encourages faster pace, but I think that’s exactly what people like them for. Who wants shoes that encourage them to run slower? Might as well not run then? Doesn’t make sense. Sounded like had some preconceived bias toward lower stack cheaper shoes before you even put them on. Not white knighting a shoe company not a $200+ pair of overpriced shoes. But to be fair, some skewed perspectives. Going slower is runner’s choice, no? Being able to get to faster speeds is runner’s choice too, but the shoes have more to do with it going faster than going slower… so, shoes capable of going faster is by definition more versatile than shoes that force you to go slower? Just saying.
@TomUK77 ай бұрын
Who wants shoes that make them run slower? People have differing circumstances. I work a manual job. I get tired physically. But like to run 2 or 3 times a week to stay fit. If I push myself too hard, working AND running, I burn myself out. Sometimes a shoe that just keeps you at a moderate pace rather than pushing the pace can be better for you!

I think the Superblast is a fantastic shoe, but I just lucked out: my left foot’s pinky toe rubbed too much or felt too tight with the type of upper the Superblast has. The fabric is too rigid and holds it’s shape, doesn’t conform to the foot (rather, the foot has to conform to the enclosure) and I did this test only by walking through the shopping mall where I bought them. Imagine if I ran with them. Sadly, after 2 hours walking in them I had to return them, very sadly. The midsole was banging, I really wanted to keep them. Hopefully, speculatively, if there’s a version 2.0 in the future they address the upper’s toebox tightness.

I dont like this shoes, it makes me want to run everyday and faster😛. The best shoes you can buy for every run you can think of.

Hot take these are so over rated…. Like 220 for a no plated trainer that isn’t plated so not great for speed stuff and not a great daily trainer either it’s reminds me of the kinvara pro just kinda useless. As someone that works at fleet feet I’m super surprised when people come in and buy the shoe and say it’s the best shoes they’re tried… like not hate I just thing there’s better options for the price is a speed category and in the daily training category as well. Like why speed 220 on a super blast when you can buy a nimbus and a magic speed for 50 dollars more
