Thank you thank you so much for the tip about getting the tickets. I am thinking of planning a trip, solo trip, and realized so many things require a reservation (from some bars, some cafes and of course grabbing the ghibli tickets that are released on the 10th) I tend to just wing it and walk around when I travel, so I’m looking to make some reservations and then walk around those areas ❤
@WesleyAnna9 ай бұрын
Honestly Ghibli tickets are probably the only things that needs super advanced reservations haha. Everything else is pretty easy to do on the ground, there's sooo many good eats and activities if your first choice doesn't work out!

New follower here. This vlog was so fun and relaxing! Making me want to go to Japan to explore my heritage and of course all the cute locations and parks.

It helps if you are able to read chinese characters which is similar to kanji. That will be less stressful to navigate through the train station.

hello, i was wondering if they checked whether the name registered on your tickets, matched the ones on your passports. i missed my chance of buying the ticket 2 months ahead and now i'm considering whether to buy from a reseller. if they are no ID checks at the ghibli warehouse or in any of the areas whatsoever, i can get away with the resold tickets
@LADY82PINK6 ай бұрын
I can tell you that in Ghibli museum(Mitaka) they always ask for your name to see if it matches the ticket but they never ask for your ID or passport. Sadly, Idont know about ghibli park so i cant help you

Studio Ghibli films have been a major part of my life and is my number 1 favorite animation house ever. With that said I went to Ghibli Park and was absolutely ASTOUNDED by how boring, uninspired, and lacking Ghibli Park is. Worst ticketing system EVER. It's the first red flag of the whole experience. Upon entering it's the silence that first hits. There's a reason theme parks have at least some sort of music going on. The whole experience feels dead without it. So bring your own headphones and listen to Joe Hisaishi's music while at the park because it will NOT get better if you don't. You can take pictures of and instagram-shots in the main sites, eat at the limited (not even all that great) food court options, and LITERALLY nothing else. I noticed that an overwhelming majority of the kids here with their parents were also complaining quite a LOT. I lost count of how often I was hearing (in Japanese of courser) kids say "Can we go home?" "I'm tired." And even, yes, I kid you not "I'm bored." and I have to admit I agreed with the kids. The only things the kids seemed to enjoy were the shops where their parents can buy them overpriced tchotchkes galore. A shame, I was really expecting so much more, but "Ghibli Park" is nothing more than a bigger "Ghibli Museum" which itself is overrated to high heaven as it already is. I guess Studio Ghibli is best experienced at the movie theater and on TV as nothing outside of those mediums has been "good" much less "great." Don't believe me, just look at their own hometown locals on what they think about the park in their own home country. The reviews are starkly divided into love it or hate it experiences. Their movies are still the best of the best though. That doesn't change.
@WesleyAnna9 ай бұрын
Honestly I agree with a lot of this! But I remember reading somewhere that the intention was to be "anti-disney" and more experiential than entertainment, so I get what they're going for. It just feels very meh right now while they're still building out some key experiences (pretty sure Witches Valley is the largest part and it's only just opening), plus the fact that I went on a rainy day when it's supposed to be a "chill and picnic" type of area. But yes, I wish they would've done more. It feels like more of a photos-and-cash-grab than a genuine tribute to the films. :/
@Elayzee9 ай бұрын
@@WesleyAnna In the Anti-Disney approach, I totally support the idea of that. As Disneyland is way over expensive and the crowd culture is way too much for me. There is a way to do that successfully. Right now as it stands, there's MAJOR improvement that needs to be made at Ghibli Park. They desperately need more things for guests to do, ESPECIALLY for children. I can only imagine what it must have been like on a rainy day. Kinda would feel even more limiting. I plan to go back in about 5 years and maybe see what new things they have learned and hopefully can make the experience for fun. Because I LOVE Studio Ghibli and I REALLY want to enjoy this park more than I currently do. I still have hope though! Thanks for your video too. I'm now subscribing! :)

But aren’t Ghibli films usually preaching against consumerism and material waste? And yet this is like a big gift shop
@WesleyAnna9 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t say that a store automatically equals waste. Senseless consumerism has more to do with the person buying IMO. If you buy a Totoro shirt and treasure it forever, that’s different from going on a shopping spree and impulse buying a bunch of crap you’ll never use or appreciate. That being said, it does make me a lil sad that 50% of the park was dedicated to buying things 🥲😭
@OumaimaPhantomhaive6 ай бұрын
How is having a gift shop means automatically waste?you can't keep your stuff without wasting them?!
