I own a 2-family home and have been living here for the past two years alone because I couldn't stand to listen to the squeaky floors and the pounding of the tenant's bare feet constantly. I figured I'd have to pull up all the floors upstairs (two rooms have hard wood) to fix the squeaks and insulate, so, no renters for now. I'd hate to imagine I could have termite damage as well. I love your channel and I'm looking forward to you fixing all of this, but I don't wish these problems on you.

Thanks Sharon! Is what it is I guess. I bought a fixer upper. I don’t blame you for not wanting upstairs neighbors. That would drive me nuts too! Thanks for checking out the video!

Try this easy fix for your squeaky second floor. the kit is like $25 and extra screws are $10 a box at home depot. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2mnaqiEq6moqtE

I'm happy that you were able to get the squeak taken care of and sad to hear about the Termite damage. But, if I've learned anything about you from watching your videos I've learned that you can fix any repair problems that come your way regarding this house! I have complete confidence in you! I'm glad I became a Patreon supporter of this channel👍🔧🔩🔨😎🍺🌟

Termite damage, *shudders*. Man those little critters can do some damage. We've had to fix issues with our posts on our front porch because of them. We didn't even know there was damage until we were repainting the house. Sorry you're having to deal with them too. Thanks for another awesome video though. 😁
@TheFixerHomeRepair5 жыл бұрын
Yup. They are terrible! It’s called “termites holding hands” when all the wood is together until you start poking it. It is a really crappy feeling when you discover it. 😞🤷♂️ oh well. This is homeownership. Thanks for checking out the video Peach!!
@georgiapeach72915 жыл бұрын
@@TheFixerHomeRepair you taught me something again, lol. Termites holding hands. Never heard of that before. Oh yeah, when you have a home even when you think you're doing a good job of maintaining it, you will still find problems, but you learn each time. Not the way I like to learn but at least I'm learning, lol. 😆

Nice video. So would you attest that the primary cause to your squeaky floor was due to termite damage or just aging and settling?

As soon as you said "reframe" I was like ooh, I hope he does a video and then you said you would so now imma happy Court....also, will you elaborate on the damage (if any) that an infestation that size could possibly cause? Meaning, to the surrounding areas of wood as well as other parts like plumbing, electrical, etc?

Lots of work coming up... no too hard but just a pain in the a&s to do. Termites are usually present when there is water present. At least that's what I know from here say... I live up north and we don't have them here! Having seen your previous videos... I think you have a concrete staircase in the front of the house... I wonder if the water leak, humidity and what not, might originate from there, the siding or the entrance door? I think you will need to further investigate!? The positive is that you found it before major renos... and that you can fix it. Good luck.
