I bought this Audi S4 4.2L V8 for $1350 + Fees and it has very minor damage that can be repaired relatively cheap.

Thank you to everyone in the Audi B5, B6 and B7 community for the positive comments. I had a 1.8t B5 Passat back in the day and always wanted the 3.0 v6 Audi A4. This B6 S4 with the 4.2 was just a dream car back then.

I love the 4.2 FSI! As a 5.2 V10 S6 owner we share 90% of the parts. But be careful timing chain repairs is a pain in the ass. These engines have 3 of them and always require the engine to be removed something that Audi or any other shop will let you know by handing you a high four digit bill.

The 5.2 S6 Exhaust is one of the best in the world 😍, I have yet to hear one in person! Such a rare car

@@JohnStax98 exactly! I have a Wagon S6 it's so brutal to drive up to 185mph but trust me always keep spare cash for those V8 and V10s. Definitely not something for people with a tight budget but damn the sound is marvelous!

S4s are surprisingly pretty reliable. The B6+ are solid, Obliviously its no honda or toyota but if you keep up the maintenance it can last a long time. Lot more reliable than v8+ bmws or even turbocharged V6s

Yuup, especially when compared to the older 2.7T which is notoriously unreliable.

I heard one of the main problems with the s4 is the timing chain? Is it worth getting one with a replaced timing chain and 111k miles?

@@eyesaucy1983 its not the chains themselves its the tensioners that prone to fail. I know the models before B8 used plastic tensioners and that why they failed. But 111k miles is a bit early for a timing chain to go bad, i would stay away from that particular S4.

@@TooColdS4 I believe the timing chain was replaced around 80k miles and the owner says that the maintenance has been good and had regular maintenance done to it since he got it at 80k miles? Would you still not recommend?

Hey, to get the pop up messages on the s4 or on any Audi, just push the rest button on the bottom of the windshield wiper stock. And on the side of it is also how you change the mods too. Btw please don’t sell it, I wanna see you stay part of the b6 s4 community!😁🥺

I have a b8 s5 with the 4.2! I have the bbe catback exhaust and a muffler delete sounds nice. Also look into getting a 034 motor sports air inlet ! Much bigger inlet than stock and makes engine bay look sexier

You need a different rear view mirror. The new one is a cheap normal one but you need a mirror with the rain sensor and light sensor and auto dimming. Thats why there is a cable there

I primed the exhaust system on my car because the salt was making it rust out so that helped since the car has 236500 Miles on it. Same color as this its a 2007 Nissan Maxima I might sell it I do not know.

It’s a 4.2 V8, it’s going to drink fuel like water! Probably low 20’s if your giving it some, then maybe 25/30 on a motorway journey?
