Alonso's awareness being 78 is criminal. It should be 90 minimum, especially if Lewis' awareness is 94 after having quite a few incidents last season and this season (Monaco practice and Miami qualifying which was the definition of 0 awareness). I feel like they just put Alonso's awareness so low, so his overall rating wouldn't be so high and higher than Lewis'. But they should increase Max's rating to 96+ and push Alonso to 93/94 in my opinion.

Alonso having 78 awareness whilst Hamilton has 90+ is actually criminal. Ham's had so many incidents last year and in 2021 there is no way anyone with a clear conscience can give him such a high awareness rating. Not to mention Alonso is literally **A W A R E** of how every other driver is doing during the race. His on the fly calculations and clairvoyance of the race situation is just absolutely mad. Those two figures definitely have to be switched.

Wow the Alonso fan girl club is going and growing strong. You see the deltas between him and the person in front of behind when he does that? It's not like he does it while fighting for position so it's not that impressive. He didn't pass the boss's son again not that impressive or far seeing. He isn't some race god that can't make mistakes or is able to see the future. Sucking up to stroll is the smartest and safest way to keep a drive and possibly not get screwed over if by some miracle he finds himself in a title fight

We all joke about Alonso's famous quote about leaving space. But over his career, I'd say he is one of the cleanest driver of all time, in terms of avoiding incidents, probably on Kimi level, yet somehow he got a low awareness rating. You tell me how it works.

I think EA mostly got the order correct but the issue they have is that the ratings are made in such a way where they have room to grow throughout a career mode save so they sort of have to be lower than they should. But certain stats like Fernando & Lando's awareness being so low whilst the racecraft on Stroll, Sargeant & NDV being way too high is just baffling.

I think Leclerc’s pace must be way higher. IMO Leclerc’s one-lap qualifying pace is up there with Verstappen or even higher. I dont mind giving him a lower grade on RACECRAFT and AWARENESS, but PACE should be 96 or higher. Exp: 77 Rac: 89 Awa: 81 Pac: 97

What you seem to miss is that the ratings are low in general to enable driver development within F1 career mode. With Max being 96 or 97, he will top out pretty much instantly, which doesn't make sense from a game perspective. With that in mind, I think the ratings are pretty much correct, I definitely think that Leclerc and Russell should be a touch higher than Norris for example, and while I love a little bit of Bottas, he hasn't really backed up that 87 rating so far, but it should be only minor tweaking. Remember that more dated drivers should get higher ratings based on their experience though - so Hamilton, Alonso, Perez and Bottas will greatly benefit from it in the overall ratings.

I can kind of see how people give you him those high numbers. He's done things in that mclaren that I honestly see very few drivers being able to replicate, and if he maintained that performance when he moves to a better team then its valid to give him those high scores. However until then it's impossible to know for sure and peoples should just err on the side of caution for the time being.

This is the second ratings video I have watched and both instances I (the other was P1 with Matt and Tommy) the ratings were better than in the game. EA need to do some research before giving ratings like this, Perez and Leclerc, or Russel and Bottas having the same amount of points is ridiculous.

Leclerc is under rated super hard. Sure he has crashed alot, but as you said, he doesnt have a fast car, and he is maximizing every single bit of it. He would have ended P3 in Bahrain if it wasnt for the DNF, he got pole position against two redbulls. Probably the fastest driver on the grid.

The Problem with sim games is the talent files are all over the place. A driver who sits at the back of the grid will sit at the front or win. There is a bias as a fan of Lewis Hamillton will over rate him despite the fact he is under performing. I race against fantasy drivers in fantasy cars on my PC because of this.

I have pretty much the same list except Piastri and Stroll has swapped their ratings and Charles should be 92 rated. Great list. I really hate how F1 games give rookies and F2 drivers such a low rating, what makes it worse is the fact that the growth is so small that by the end of their 5th season a driver like Piastri will only be rated 83 or something, which is just stupid. FOIFA, Madden and NBA2K does this a lot better than F1 and F1 Manager.

I love tommo, and I think he’s very fair, but I genuinely don’t believe that lando is better than Carlos. Carlos beat him every time he was at mclaren, and when he moved to Ferrari, he beat leclerc in his first season, was equal to him in the second half of 22, and is beating him now. I am not exactly sure how the viewer polling worked since it's somewhat distorted and fast-forwarded. Did you poll the viewers after you showed them your rating? Because if you did I think showing your points rating and bringing arguments for it has most likely heavily influenced the viewers' ratings. I think it would have been better if you polled the viewers first and then show your rating for all of the drivers :).

Hi Tommo, I enjoyed the video! However, it felt sort of like a short summary of you just saying what you think your rating was and what the viewers think. I feel like you could explain a bit more (maybe the individual stats that you do/don’t agree with), and that would make the video even better! Probably because Hamilton had exactly 5 million and 41 sensors all over his car in the first couple races. Hamiltons definitely better than Russell, albeit not by a huge margin.

As the more experienced driver, Lewis had to carry out testing duties since he provides more reliable feedback, while George's objectives were to find his groove and not to fall behind Lewis. At the end of the day, Lewis is still better than George, although not by far. Amazing how a 38 year old Lewis is still competitive though, he is still a top 3 driver on the grid alongside Max and Fernando.

Prime Vettel, Prime Nando, Young Lewis and Prime Kimi was a really strong top 4 in the early 2010s. Add Button, Rosberg and Webber to that list and you have a pretty stacked list. I will though say that the early 2000s and the mid 2010s was pretty weak compared to the 2020s and the early 2010s. In my opinion the strongest era of drivers was probably the 1960s(Clark, Stewart, Hill, Hill, Guerney, Brabham, McLaren, Surtees, Rindt, Hulme and a little bit of Moss) It is though a shame that we have so many great drivers yet none of them can fight for wins and add to that the fact that so many young drivers won’t get a seat in F1(Theo, Vesti, Drugovich, Iwasa, Bearman and Lawson are all drivers who deserves a shot at F1)

@@JackoVX the best top 4 is 100% between 1980s and the early 2010s. We still need a few years to see how the top 4 we have now pan out to truly rank them. The 60s top 4 isn’t as strong(the top 4 is probably Clark, Stewart, Brabham and Graham Hill), but they did have a very top heavy field with multiple drivers that could win WDC(i am pretty certain the 60s was the decade where the WDC was won by the most amount of drivers ever, to be fair this was mostly due to Jim Clark having horrible reliability problems). I will though say that we are currently in the era with the deepest driver roster. Just think of how many drivers deserves a F1 seat.

I do not like the fact Esteban seems to have a flawed history with other drivers, BUT I think he deserves an 88 and because of his awareness, As of last year and this year, He has been working with engineers to correct sim and potential set up problems and also got the podium on Monaco because of his awareness. I do not see the same driver from India Racing anymore. Less accidents and more points as we continue. Gasly should be a bit lower. I like all your other ratings.

I assume the rating change as we experience the drivers racing at different tracks. So its safe to assume the correlation at Behrain and Logan is way higher than DeVries because of their placement at that race. I think De Vries may be a bit over rated coming in, BUT He is definitely more experienced than a rookie!

@@elvincitore1512 Ocon has 10 points more and he has a podium currently(Ocon 25, Gasly 10). I do think they are close and you can say Pierre is learning a new car in a new team. Renault powertrain. In no way do I mean that he should be way lower than what they rated him at all! I just think f1 was gracious to give him that score in correlation to his results on track.

I made my own ratings and apart from 1 or 2 points here and there, it's exactly the same as yours, altough some are a little a bit high imo. For exemple Norris shouldn't be higher than a 90 and both Haas drivers and Nyck De Vries should be a little lower imo. I'm a Perez fan myself and I completely agree with the 88 and leveled with Sainz. He has had a few bad weekends lately but people seem to forget how good he actually is. Not many drivers would've pulled off what he did in the Sakhir GP a few years ago. F1 fans just love hating on everyone as soon as they can. Sainz, Perez, Hamilton, Russel and Verstappen only have to make 1 mistake to be called washed nowadays

Considering 94 is highest possible at this point in time id be going 94 Max 93 Lewis 92 Nando 91 Charles 90 George 90 Lando 87 Checo 87 Carlos 87 Esteban 86 Pierre 84 Valtteri 83 Alex 83 Lance 83 Yuki 83 Hulk 82 Oscar 82 KMag 81 Zhou 75 Nyck 74 Logan And to then be creating the career mode in a more sensible way than until F122 there needs to factors such as potential and form. I think potential shouldn't go higher than 96 (which I only see in Max) and form should then be able to elevate the rating to 99 temporarily (fe. Fernando would be like +7 form right now)

@@robin180hsv You shouldn’t though. Put who they are aside. Driver A has won a race, is matching a seven time world champion consistently in equal machinery and got P2 in a Williams. Meanwhile, Driver B has no wins, less podiums, a questionable record vs his teammates. Lost to Sainz twice and while they did win against Riccardo (a multiple race winner). It’s clear Danny was struggling. Can you really say Driver A and Driver B are comparable when you look at it like that?

You know your stuff I agree with most of your ratings. I would put a point or 2 gap between Lewis and max tho, and I think russel and Lando should be ahead of leclerc. It’s all opinion of course but you pretty much nailed it

How does Max and Charles have the same awareness? Max should have at least 90 awarness and charles should have 80. I can't remember the last time Max crashed out of the race. The last time Charles did that was this season in Australia.
