Always welcome to Mexico. Next time you should land at hotel serenidad, it’s a small hotel with its own compacted sand runway next to Mulege on Bahia Concepcion. It’s not an entry airport but you can make all the paperwork on a previous airport like TIJ, MXL, SFE, buenos vuelos!

Eric, great video. I loved the nod to your wife not being impressed. I finished my commercial rating recently and since getting my IFR rating over a year ago I have been taking many trips with my family. Many times when I felt so accomplished about a flying mission my wife not my kids were impressed. I now view that (non-)reaction as a compliment. If I made the experience so effortless and unexciting, I did my homework and flying well. So - Congrats to a mission well planned and executed. Alex

Great video Eric! And thanks so much for documenting the process. I've flown to the Bahamas three times now and had a very similar experience - the nerves, the uncomfortable lack of weather info, and the exhilaration of finally making it. It's really what owning your own airplane is all about! You captured it well!

Great video! I made the trip to Loreto for the first time last February in my Dakota, and had similar range/weather/lack of airport anxiety. I found Baja Bush Pilots's Airports of Mexico and Central America very useful...there are many airstrips along the way (in case of emergency) that are described in the BBP guide, along with border crossing instructions and eAPIS service. Well worth the effort, as you said. I am planning a trip to Mulege (Hotel Serenidad) this winter.
