Thank you Emma for being the consummate professional ferry pilot and bringing my new-to-me sweetheart home to Arizona! It was a long day….Houston to Austin….Austin to Queen Creek, Az.

Hey Emma. I really enjoy your videos. Yours and Michael's conversation piqued my interest when you guys spoke about the boneyard. I used to work there as recently as 2022. I retired from Air Force Civil Service out of there. That was the arguably the best job I had during my 37-year Air Force career. I was on active duty for 21 years and retired and became an Air Force Civil service employee for another 16 years. Thanks for awesome videos.

My dad is a taildragger man. His first aeroplane though was a C150B, we loved that aeroplane. If it had been a taildragger, I'm guessing he'd have kept it a lot longer. The one in the video is just gorgeous 👍✌️💜😊 You mentioned the 40° flaps of the C150s, theyll pull you up short, and as you hinted at, theyll get you in, but you might not get out again. Even with the tricycle under cart, my dad got very good at short take off and soft field take off techniques, where and when to put in two stages of flap on the roll, getting the nose wheel off, then gently the mains, using ground effect etc., also starting the T/O roll at 90° +/- to the runway etc. That was with small wheels too (C150B). Of course he/we didn't have density altitude issues to contend with in Blighty - hot days could be a challenge though, also one way in, one way out hillside strips, two up as well could be "fun" 😲 Very wise to get a few hours under your belt, Ive seen several who, even with high hours, think theyre a bush/off airport/farm strip pilots and end up in sticky situations, ground looping through crops etc. being the least of em. That STOL kit will help you. With a little experience on FW 3 Axis microlights (LSA), on the EV97 Eurostar (Sportstar) that has 60° of flap, if I recall correctly, put that in and it becomes like a helicopter in forward attitude and slow speed short field landing. Even with only 80 bhp the EV97 and C42 have very short take off rolls and a climb out of 1000 fpm - catches spam can/GA pilots out when doing differences training, Eg. "full throttle, acceleration normal, Ts & Ps good, AS alive.....oh I'm ar 200' now!" 😀😀👍 Horses for courses though. Now if you had 150 bhp under the hood, a STOL kit too, with 40° flaps? Nice, very usable 😀👍😉🤫👍

Nice airplane. I seen many of David Lowe's TD conversions since I live local to him. When I'm out flying around a trip into his airstrip is always one of my stops. David always has something interesting to check out.

Emma, Wow! Another great video. The tour around San Tan was cool. There is a large number of Powered Paragliders and Parachutes that fly around that area. I am sure all the GA pilots are aware of the activity. Great interview with Michael, and congrats on your new plane. Looking forward to the next one Emma.

I moved to Kingman in 2013 and since then the people moving here from other states it is now overflowing with new housing going up all over. It is a shame this nice little quite town is now almost 24/7 and the noise is way up. The invasion does not seem to be slowing down. Now, where do I go? Like this video, the flying here is great with all the days available.

Who are the channels that care about aviation? Airplanes. Frankly, I am a big fan of the content, as well as the valuable information and the way the videos are presented. Keep going, captain, you are great and I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming videos. My greetings to you from Saudi Arabia.

Would you consider an 0-320 conversion in this airplane? Depending on prop you'd get different climb/cruise of course and would need some aft weight balance to compensate (battery?) Using modern port-matched cylinders, multi-angle valve cuts, domed pistons, and a powerflow-type tuned exhaust, you would have a unique light sports aircraft. The early 40 degree manual flap slim light fastback straight tail fuselage is probably the best of the C150/152's from a purist flight performance point of view.

The O-200 and later the Lyco O-235 are probably the ideal Powerplants for these airframes. Excess power can really only be used for climb rate in a 150/152. But most people cruise at or below 8,000 so who needs 2,000fpm?

With the hot temps a 125hp sparrow hawk stc would be a good compromise between the 150hp and stock 0200....ive about 50 hrs in a 125 hp aerobat and with a prop upgrade it was a good fit
@themikeyfly3 ай бұрын
@@mattf49006 unfortunately the Sparrowhawk STC only applies to later 152’s with the Lycoming engines. The earlier Continental O-200’s are stuck with 100hp 😢
