i flew to brazil because i deserve tropical birthday vacations | flight attendant non rev travel

did you know são paulo is the largest metropolis in the southern hemisphere, greater in population than even new york city? add that fun fact to the geography category of your trivia file!
because i believe none of what i hear and half of what i see, i decided i'd better go investigate for myself. so, 2 months into my flight attendant career, i used my international travel benefits for the first time to celebrate my birthday in brazil. i can confirm, são paulo had a lot of people (and i didn't even see HALF of them).
i had a little extra time, so i went to looking for the girl from ipanema in rio de janeiro. watch too the end to see if i ever found her. spoiler alert: i did not. but i did find MYSELF... at the beach... every day.
