This what I’m talking about lol 😂! You did a great job! My husband and I bought a mobile home for $7000 cash. We down sized our lifestyle so I could homeschool. I have done most of the inside myself while homeschooling! I’ve put in two new toilets, 3 sinks, new facets, new flooring in the kitchen and living room husband helped, painted the whole house, put in drywall in two rooms, rebuilt a new cedar awning, two new windows husband helped, husband put in all new lighting and ceiling fans, and pressure washed the porch and painted it. I’m slowing down now so we can level the house, get a new roof, mini split air and heat, generator, and new under belly. We’ve only used cash because we don’t want any debt. I also took all the kitchen cabinets down and rearranged them to fit new fridge, stove, and dishwasher. THAT WAS HARD!! My husband work his but off so I do the same! He was so shocked I got those cabinets done lol 😂! I had him check to see if everything was screwed into the studs correctly. This was the best decision we’ve made the whole 24yrs we’ve been together! We are 2yrs away from buying land. I want the house complete before we move. We live in a nice mobile home park but we pay our lot rent up 1yr ahead. I’m not buying a new car until I have to. Our truck is good enough to go on vacation. We’ve done such a good job on our home my mom is selling her stick built home I grew up in to buy a used mobile home. We are going to fix it up for her. I wish we would’ve done this when we first got married but better late than never!

It’s a big job and I know I’ll need my husband’s help. I’ll do it in different stages. I’m going all out for our area lol 😂. Once I learned how to use a saw, my husband KNEW we were in trouble lol 😂. He came home one day to no walls because I had took down wood paneling to put in drywall lol 😂. He just stood there with his mouth open lol 😂. Our daughter told him it’s ok daddy we got this lol 😂. Yes. Mobile homes are awesome. Let’s call them tiny homes and Harte more when we sell them. Though they’re better than tiny homes. I’ve had to let go o mobile home stigma. Smart people live in mobiles then they live it up. No mortgage and in a community rent varies yet cheaper than renting. No neighbors above or below. Must always find a really good community to feel safe.

I love all the details you added to a very simple decor fireplace, ceiling fan, dark floor border against the light blue walls, textured pattern for the counter tops, nice clean smooth surface tub without tiles & grout to mildew over time...Very very very well DONE! Very well done! I think once a person watches a video like this,you understand how the house was built,it takes away most of the fear of doing any repair. When you said that you live in the house you repaired shows your aim is doing quality repairs that will last for years. If the new owners keep up with the maintence,the house wil last forever. Yea indeed. You can also use a roll-on epoxy that you can get in any color you want from your local paint store. We did 2 tubs in black recently!

Gas and tar mixture for stain. In Boy Scouts we stained the exterior of buildings with diesel and used motor oil. Similar, but if you leaned against the building (for the first month or so) it got on your clothes.

Absolutely. I found this out the hard way some time ago. The way to get around it is using a sealer like Thompson’s clear coat

GOOD job; i wd have used vinyl plank flooring not carpet, and light tan paint on the walls not blue. the tub overfit is a good idea, i wish i could locate some shower panel walls as i need some to refit my lg corner tub like yours into a shower overhead into that type tub, so i need those shower walls.

DID A GREAT JOB but not sure I would ever paint vinyl siding . Some one pressure washs it and a disaster . My neighbor learned the hard way about that I am a 71 year old woman remodeling my retirement home . new moldings that are not plastic , new doors that are not hollow core , new vinyl planks flooring , New everything . I have remodeled 3 houses while i lived in them . Every 10 years done and sold them This is the last one for me . I wish you the best of luck .

Hey i think it cost a little more than $3K to purchase all those materials. Roofing, decking, subfloor, framing, countertops, toilets, All in all, great job. I'm a retired builder thinking of doing a park with units i would refurbished. Bring back some affordable rents so people can save to purchase/invest in their own home. The best tip has been the oil based primer. Are you using mobile home parts for the water supplies?

Along with rot often comes black mold. You should protect yourself with a mask while doing nasty demo, so you're not getting it into your eyes and nose. Would love to know how long this took you to do and how long it took to sell? Great job. Your mom must be proud of her boy :)

You should see the one I looked at three days ago 😳 a single wide. Floors soft to the point you can see outside when you walk. Floors tore out and moldy. Ceiling like this one and the kitchen was a nightmare. You got a great deal on this one double wide. It's not in bad shape. This mobile I would happily flip. The one I looked at doesn't come with a deed either because of its age. Either way, I'm trying to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze. It would make magnificent before and after pics

Ok, the baseboard idea was genius - but was it hard it the walls weren't straight? Also, you went BOLD w/that blue everywhere, but it works.
