does this mean that if i put griffith as first preference and jcu at second i won’t get the option to choose between the two if i get offered both of them?

Yep! You will only get one offer, and it will be whatever is higher. If both JCU and Griffith want you, you'll only get an offer from Griffith if you put it first. But if only JCU wants you and you put it second, you will still get a JCU offer even though it's second. It's such a confusing system, but always put the university that you hope first!

how do you apply for bonded places?

Just like normal on qtac! They’ll just have a different course code

For some universities they fill unbonded first, and then just continue down the list for bonded. I’m not exactly sure which ones you separately apply and which ones you don’t. I think for unsw you pick bonded when you submit the special unsw application
