i think it looks beautiful! The point of underpainting is so that it looks subtle underneath the foundation, and it works perfectly here; it just looks like what you did IS facial structure. I also think that the contour on the jaw works just fine for you! It kind of ties the rest of the face in a pretty bow imo

Yep! I think Soph just isn’t used to how underpainting works. The way she does her makeup would leave you looking really streaky on the red carpet - you can’t have any obvious lines like current “normal” contour (especially her nose contour) has. The underpainting works really well to give an emphasis of structure from any angle.

Ok I’m going to sound stupid but I am 49 years old, found your page around 6 months ago & love your content. Sophie u always look amazing. The way that I underpaint is that I put foundation after I've done my eyes ,then i do my eyebrows. After that I add bright cream/liquid blush and cream/liquid bronzer and contour over the foundation. The way that i contour or bronzer for my jaw bone is that I don't go all the way around my chin. I just do the sides of my jaw. Then when I've done everything I set my tzone and undereyes with a matte translucent smoothing loose powder. Then I go over everything with powder foundation and a big fluffy brush, I do the outside perimeters of my face first then I go around the blush then with no additional product I go over the blush. It blends everything together. I then go over lightly with some powder bronzer on my forhead and nose to add a little dimension back. Then i lightly go over the blush area with either just some highlighter or a slightly glowy powder blush. I go over my eyebrows with a tinted brow gel to set it .

I would try a skin tone color concealer over your spots. i always see people doing in with a lighter concealer but that just makes your spots lighter than your skin. (looks like it was a skin tone one or close to it here but i have seen this previously).

a tip for drawing contour on the jaw, make sure you're going primarily under the jawline, not on top. that should prevent the "beard" effect you mentioned 😊 If you think about what we're trying to do when we put product there (define the jawline) it makes sense that we're trying to mimic the shadow that a sharp jawline creates, which is on the underside not on top. a cool toned product will also help make it look more natural. warm toned products can still work to add definition in contour areas on the cheeks and forehead because the sun naturally hits there, but I often find that it can look strange using a warm toned contour shade for jaw/neck definition 😊 great video! the eyes look stunning!
