I found i was just too old to enjoy it. Never watched it as a kid so there was no nostalgia factor. It’s extremely formulaic. Same structure every single episode. Simple dialogue made for kids. Intentionally non complex. If you enjoy it that’s fine I just don’t get how it’s so popular among people my age still. (Late 20’s)

Sure it follows some tropes and has some moments of goofy dialogue, but especially after season 1, the show very heavily pushes a serial narrative that connects the entire show together, and is able to present many complex themes in a way anyone from children to adults can appreciate, like: the cost of war, revenge and forgiveness, compromising your morals for the greater good, brainwashing, childhood trauma, and how there are good and bad people on both sides of any large conflict. Also the animation is phenomenal, and imo has some of the best choreography depicting martial arts better than any animated media outside of Japan. If you didn't connect with the show that's fine, I'm not saying you have to change your mind, but maybe reapproaching the show while keeping things like the themes, character arcs (especially the mirrored arcs of Aang and Zuko), cultural influences in concepts and worldbuilding, and martial arts choreography in mind may help you see it in a different light.

What sucks about recycling in the United States is that you have to pay if you want a recycling bin, and you probably will not get a tax break depending on where you live. The cherry on top is that even when you do recycle, there's an 80% chance that your material will just end up at a trash landfill anyways. Only about 20% of the stuff Americans throw in a recycling bin actually goes to a recycling plant. Most businesses just offer it as a way to make more money. If they have to do ANY separation, they're legally allowed to just trash the entire contents.
