Julia! I just paused after you showed us the American Girl dress... you should reach out to Lori Tata who use to work at AG for years and has quite a bit of knowledge of any and all AG. She is a reseller... I have been following her here on YT for years,, probably from her early days on this platform. I have purchased from her, and have interacted with her through comments and a few 'live' shows. She is super sweet, nice and always helpful. :) BTW, the sage green linen topper is super cute and would look amazing on you! I am loving that blue Splendid lounge pant!!! :)

Yes! I Love Lori! I will reach out to her on that dress - I think I've figured out what they did (i believe they even re-used the white fabric on the sleeves on the shortened sleeves.), but she might have a bit more info on what this is worth and how rare it is... And seriously - those splendid pants are like BUTTAH. So smooth and drapey...

Thanks for sharing your hauls, you find the most beautiful items. The George dress is from Asda aka Walmart. Asda started their own brand many years ago and then Walmart did the same. I plan to one day go back to LA and shop the bins, make it a vacation. I lived in Westlake Village for 4 years in the late 80s

Oooooh - Westlake is gorgeous!!! You'll have to do the grand tour or the bins in the area - I find some INSANE stuff at the Van Nuys location!

Love love love this haul and all of your knowledge is incredible! Thank you for that! I love a lot of the pieces but that last dress ❤❤❤ who is the Indian designer again? Bucket list designer- I would say Chanel but I've found flats before; so I'll say Isset Miyake!
@JMSquaredVintage2 ай бұрын
Absolutely incredible, isn't it! The designer is Injiri - Each piece is more special than the last! I've yet to find Chanel - but Issey Miyake is still above Chanel for me (in terms of what I want for me - not to sell...)!

INTERESTING ! I never knew about using conditioner on sweaters. My daughter found a very expensive sweater with some shrinkage. I'll have to tell her about it.
@JMSquaredVintage2 ай бұрын
Yep! I do always have to look up the right proportions and timing, but it DOES work! Just throw "using conditioner to unshrink sweaters" into Google, and she'll find a ton of tutorials. If it's just a little bit of shrinkage, steam should do the trick, but if it's quite a bit, it's safer to use the conditioner route...

That sage Saga piece is soooooo me! Im sure it wont fit over the girls but its fantastic. I seem to remember that Oh, Suzannah as a store somewhere in the midwest. This would have been in the 1970's so maybe Im wrong but I think it was a gift type store that had all kinds of things. That topper looked like it was made from a tablecloth, it looked crocheted on my phone but again, I could be seeing it wrong. The butterfly design was really popular in crochet at one point, Ive sold many booklets with that same design. The store may have had them made specifically for them. I dont think it was an actual clothing line. Such a great haul, I cant believe you found another Pleasant Company dress!! So hard to find and you can name your price. I Think the de la Renta sweater was a licensed piece from the 90's. Dior, de la Renta and a couple others licensed their names back then...think Dior nightgowns.....they were not the pure luxury that you think of now. They could have been made in any factory that bought the license at the time.I used to sell a ton of Flax but only the original items, not the newer stuff which isnt nearly as good. You should do research into that company, its very interesting. Started by Jeanne Engelhart and the earliest brand was named Angelhart, the changed to Flax. She went thru a messy divorce, ( he got the business and made it cheap) and moved to Hawaii. Sold another line...you really need to read about her. There was an article that included a free jacket pattern in Threads Magazine years ago. She spoke of starting her business, not knowing how to even price items at her first trade show, really interesting. Ive found 3 Miyake pieces. He had around 8 sub sets he sold under and I found 2, 2piece sets from his Plantation line. Then I found a raincoat from that line ..the name escapes me....and Im sure the only reason I found anything is because the stores dont know there are many brands under the Miyake label. Never found a named piece tho. My "never going to find but Ill die trying to find" is Rundholz. I would love to find anything from them. The bottom of the India dress isnt embroidery, its a sort of jacquard and woven as part of the fabric but the other areas are embroidered by hand
@JMSquaredVintage2 ай бұрын
It's so fab, right? I'll be sure to list measurements when I do get it listed - those unsized pieces tend to be cut pretty generous, so you might be surprised! I think I'm with you with the ODLR - I've got a dior nightgown in my closet right now that's polyester (could you imagine Christian Dior OKing that?!)...they still sell with the name, though! I'll be going far down the rabbit hole on Flax - it's always so upsetting when a company goes downhill, and you hate hearing causes likie this! I can't believe you found Plantation pieces! I'll take anything from any of his lines, in my size, please! Ditto to Yohji Yamamoto's brands. ANY of them! EXCELLENT choice on Rundholz... never found one either - hopefully this triggers the universe to drop one to both of us!!

I'm enjoying your videos and learning so much! I just started my reselling biz and live in OC where we don't have any bins. Was thinking of going to Long Beach and give it a try. Any tips on what days/times are better or anything else to know before I go? Thanks for sharing!
@JMSquaredVintage2 ай бұрын
You actually DO have bins in OC - they're right in Santa Ana (you'll want to put Goodwill Marketplace into your maps) - there's both a regular store there AND Bins, so just make sure you're going to the right entrance for the bins - (honestly, this regular store is one of the better ones I've ever been to, so a good option when you're not wanting to dig the bins). My advice? get there BEFORE opening. You can take your cart around to the bins there, and those carts go FAST, so you want to be first in the door, first to the carts, and first to the bins.

@@JMSquaredVintage thank you! I will go check it out. The stores have gotten pricey so the margins are small as I'm learning all about the brands and sell through rates.

Amazing treasures! I just sold a Karen Nicol cardigan with beautiful embroidery! Question: I bought a Versace Jeans Signature button up shirt yesterday. The tags say made in Italy, but I’m not sure how to know if it’s real or fake…any thoughts???
@JMSquaredVintage2 ай бұрын
Ooooh - so, you can start by poking around online - there are label repositories out there that catalog the tags for different eras for different brands. They're not complete, but they can at least get you to whether or not you put a few bucks out for authentication. There are a few online services you can use - Legit Grails and Real Authentication are two off the top of my head. You can also post pics to the Authentic Detective facebook group - they've been SUPER helpful!
@kathyarnauer28312 ай бұрын
@@JMSquaredVintage Thank you so much for the authentication resources! I will do some digging and see what I find out! I'm not getting my hopes up that it's a real Versace shirt, but ya never know!!! Fingers crossed:)
