In this video I return to the richest gold bearing river I have ever discovered. On my last trip I found over 3 ounces of gold in just 2 days before I had to leave to go home. This time around I am packed for 4 days, what will the outcome be?

After watching the hard work that goes into mining and extracting precious metals like gold, I understand why my old man always said that the stock market is the closest man has gotten yet to alchemy. Creating stupendous amounts of money out of thin air. Humanity always wanted it easy lol!

Lol. Tell that to the Warren Buffet’s and Charlie Munger’s. Actually some others are good. Cathy Wood predicted a rise in oil prices due to the Ukraine situation. My own adviser Mary Elizabeth Huxley also predicted that precious metals will go up during a recession after the pandemic. My portfolio has grown over $400,000 in 8 months so I guess some are better at prospecting stocks than others

Thanks Rob, The trench you saw is most likely a tailings race(tail race). The river was dammed to allow a higher water level and the capacity to control the flow through their 'Long Toms' , just a long wooden sluice. usually here in Vic. they are associated with stacks of clean rocks either side. the goldbearing gravels could be hydraulically sluiced or shovelled into the long tom

Much admiration mate, you can see how much work you put into these trips and productions. Just a question, have you tested the purity, I think in general very very little raw gold is 24k, usually has a combination of silver and/or copper. I do specific gravity tests, the little I've found in Tasmania is between 21k and 22k.

I’ve never tested it, but my ring was made from very pure gold. I set the gold price to 24k because no one in their right mind would ever sell nuggets for less than spot.

@@Rob.Parsonsyou said at the end that it’s not legal to sell the gold in Tasmania. Why is that?

A truly magnificient find of all of this gold out in the Tassie wilderness. I do hope that you also picked up the dark covered gold that you thought wasn't actually gold until a mate of yours pointed it out. I say this because at 11:48 there was such a gold piece near the top LH corner that I think you missed, but perhaps you didn't know about it at the time.

Just a small correction, you put into your gold calculator that what you have is 24K. No gold coming out of the ground is .999. One must refine the material to get it pure. Normally, the gold nuggets are usually 20K to 22K purity (83% to 92% by mass).

Except Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand mate. Our gold is the purest in the world, typically coming out at 23k and 24k. It's the trade in for everything being able to kill you here.

Around 39 min in you mentioned those trenches. .they look a lot like burned out root branches from a fire years ago.. the roots can burn a long time underground and then the ground caves in to fill the gap of where the roots were... Awesome Scenery ☆☆☆!!
