I thought you would be interested to know a patent date is when the item was patented not when it was actually made, sometimes things are manufactured for years after the patent date. I really enjoy the content of all your videos and your lovely nature. I look forward to my daily dose of pam.

Hi k w- If that is the case, how does one tell how old something really is?
@kw-sc2qp4 жыл бұрын
@@nhcheyenne7919 Hi there, that's a good question and I don't really know what the answer is but I guess you could get a date range from date of patent until production of that product ceased. Not everything is patent marked or marked with a date yet experts can tell its age because of there knowledge of other factors that come into play when dating an item. You need to know so much to buy and sell antiques and collectable but I think that's why I enjoy paper and moose so much because you learn new things all the time!

Those cassette tapes looked to be in terrific shape. Plus, they were actually great artists! I think you could flip them for significant profit by selling in bundles. Many older folks with underlying conditions are still staying very close to home and probably have at least one player.

I think the 1880's is associated with the patent of the packaging and possibly the name Star Braid. Not the date of the item. I believe that particular seam binding or as they call it star braid was sold exclusively by Strawbridge Clothier Philadelphia. However I don't think seam binding and bias tape was used until the 20's or 30's. I think! Nonetheless that is still a great find!!

I use them for my sewing machine. They sell stands to use with them.

Sneaky trick: Do a search for what you want to find and if you can’t get directly to the page, IF your search engine does it, click on the little down triangle beside the website address and you may see options that include “Cached page”. "The White Album" is more of a nickname that people use for the Beatles album, because it is white, but the official title of it (what would be printed on the sleeve or insert) is just "The Beatles". So that makes me think that cassette was not actually the Beatles. Other artists have had albums that were officially named "The White Album". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Album_(disambiguation)

There is very little on Worthpoint. Searching for “Star Braid” brings up a lot of Star Wars stuff for some reason. Anyhow.... I found three comps. One appears to be the one you saw (“Vintage Star Braid, 16 spools +others”) that sold 4/2013 for $27. The most recent sold that I found was from 8/2018, one spool of wool Star Braid trim (looked very similar to yours) with some moth damage, sold for $12. Hope this helps!
