Y’all like this comment so Kenny can see. I do rebuilds almost all day everyday and have done all kinds of experiments in my free time and I love rebuilding through the draft. If you want to find a generational talent you have to scout as many players as possible. Progression hits harder for players with different types of personality badges, and that’s why sometimes when you flip through the sim you may find a random player make a crazy jump by like 8 overalls. Younger players in the draft tend to have higher potential but lower overalls, which is why sometimes you may also see a Gm make a confusing pick in the draft where they take a 75-77 ovr player over a 80+. Look at the stats of the different prospects and you might see someone averaging eye popping stats that look stupid for someone with a c prospect rating. Those are the ones you want. If you scout them there will be all kinds of crazy comparisons too lol I’ve run into a steph curry comp with a Reggie miller floor before🤣 and if you develop them right they will progress fast as hell that 74 can turn into a 90 in less than 3 seasons try winning a ring with a team of nothing but drafted players I feel like you’ll catch on quick. Also, last tip, the pairing of potential camp and setting the targeted player that you want to progress into a star into any of your three options in the coaching settings makes them progress at an insane rate.

Kenny! “Ming Yao/Starter” Doesn’t mean that Yoa Ming is a starter. It means that his play style would be like Yoa Ming, and his skill level would be starter. So basically they’re saying that his floor is a worse version of Yoa ming. You’ll also see instances where it’s the reverse. Like “Ceiling: Lou Williams/Hall of Fame”. That doesn’t mean Lou Williams is a hall of Fame Player, it means that their ceiling is a hall of fame player who resembles Lou Williams in his play-style. So Lou Williams if he got transformed into a 99 overall basically

The one thing I see that's slightly better with 2k is the rookie classes. They're more like the historical classes in the game now. There's a few guys that immediately change your franchise and then a good few more that are just good upside picks that start off at 72-80. I hated that even at the minimum draft quality setting, in previous games, every other second round pick would be 76 and just instantly beat half the rotation players on most teams.
