2k's progression system is so bad man. This was cool to see 2nd rounders get this good but in 2k there is no such thing as a bust. Everyone becomes at least borderline allstar level if given minutes. It makes it so predictable. After a couple of years anyone you draft will be good.

This is true, I once did a 20 year expansion team sim and in that time period i managed to develop 2 99 rated players with one of them being like a 10x consecutive MVP and DPOY. I mean it was kinda fun but ultimately very broken and unrealistic

Kenny, 2k drafts have been like this. I know this isn’t normally how you do rebuilds, but progression is based on the potential stat mixed with performance which is tied to playtime. I’ve done hundreds of sims at this point and different people develop differently depending on their playtime and how well they do in game even if their potential might not be the highest. But at the end of the day it’s a mix and it makes it very fun and worth having late picks in the draft.

I think going with a 5 man or 6 man rotation can hurt the chances of winning. I usually run an 8 man and mess with the bench depth. Just so each of my bench players gets just enough time to relieve my starters.

Since Kenny's been getting into golf recently and needs more 2k content I thought this would be a great idea: "I rebuilt a team playing golf" Go to a 9-hole course. For each hole you play on, you randomly select an NBA team. Depending on how many strokes you take determines which player you have to take from the random roster (e.g. hole in one = best player, eagle = second best player, birdie = third option etc. If it takes more than twelve strokes, you get the worst player on the team). You can make trades with the 9 players you got from playing golf and can only trade a player for another player (i.e you can't trade Lebron for 2 players but Lebron and Patrick Williams for 2 players is fine). 9 man rotation good luck!

Hi Kenny! Two tips that could really help with videos like this one 1. Pre draft workout- it really helps with scouting and gives you a better report 2. G league- send young players that you don't play to the g league and their player progression will look amazing

G League progression got nerfed at least since 2k23. May still work on last gen but it hasn't been a thing on current gen for a while, to where I'm not sure if there's any benefit at all to sending players down
