That mantis is not fully grown yet. Mantids go through various stages of development (L1(baby) - L8(adult)). It looks like the mantis you found is probably L6 or L7. If you look closely where the thorax meets the abdomen you can see the wing buds are starting to develop. When the mantis has it's final shed, that's when it will get it's wings :) ---- I've owned several mantids.

That blue-eyed lizard at the beginning of the video was really cool and neat. I really liked its bright blue eyes. They seemed extremely bright and shiny. I can clearly see how it got its name. That frog was really cool too. I really liked the way its feet looked. Really large feet. I really liked the way it kept hopping on you. I really loved the dead leaf mantis. That was really cool too. I really loved how big it looked. That sure did seem like the biggest mantis I've ever seen. I really loved that when you were holding it, I could get a really good look at it. Seeing its body shape was really awesome. I can clearly see its big eyeballs on the side of its head. I even liked its body movements too. So cool with the way it blends in with the leaves.

I believe this mantis might be a D. Truncata, as opposed to Lobata. Also this is not as big as it'll get. This one has one moult to go and it'll be a fully grown adult, with a full set of wings. The adults have a spectacular defence posture, using the brightly coloured inside of the raptorial arms and wings.

Awesome video! Just one small correction for the sentence at 7:33: This is not an adult specimen, since it doesn't have fully developed wings yet. So they do in fact get bigger. This one is most likely subadult or presubadult.
